Did you read the thread? Cave isn’t even the developer, which is the main reason why people are feeling dead inside over this. Sure the character art is laughable, but we should be pretty used to that stuff at this point.

I saw that, but I forgot by the time I made my post.

I guess this just gives more credence to the rumor about Cave's staff leaving for M2. If they were still around, I don't see why this wouldn't have been done by the Dodonpachi Maximum team at least.

That doesn't make sense. You're not understanding what this is. It's not something Cave came up with and had someone else develop for them. It's the mobile version of them licensing out the DDP series to IGS (Bee Storm).

Right, but what I'm saying is, why would Cave license a shooter to another developer if they still had people on staff who could make them? Maybe they've always done this with mobile games and I just didn't know about it, in which case never mind me.

The same reason they licensed out the DDP franchise for Bee Storm when they had staff who could make their own shooters. They get paid a chunk just for allowing another company to make a game. They don't have to do any work. They just sign a document giving the right away and get a lump sum.

You guys can complain all you want about licensing out IP darlings until you see what Konami did with arcade Contra.

I have proof, I have footage, I have played it. It's an abomination of untoppable proportions!!

Bug panic was a good "expansion" with a new character and story made by CAVE, but this Korean crap looks awful.

Bug Panic was just an updated version of a previous offshoot game they did for Japanese feature phones, Mushihimesama Gaiden, which was done in CAVE's "golden era".

Bug Panic was boring repetitive shovelware, its potential marred by lacking execution and inadequate touchscreen controls.

would not play again.

rough translations...

"We are able to provide real-time simultaneous two-person cooperative play and new characters"

"Provision multiple modes such as Maniac mode for advanced users and original mode for beginners as a social element, you can gift a gem to friends every day as long as you see the contents, you can collect the character, this model will power up in level up It seems to have become the shooting of the basic free system."

I'd rather play this than candy crush any day...

The fact that they've gone to the trouble to re-color existing Reco and Palm art might be the part that sticks out the most to me.

And look what they did with Koyori:

Also it reminds me that Gunbird 1 was released for java mobile phones and in english. It was quite a decent port. And of course controls in java phones for shmups with actual buttons are much better than "smart"phones with their uncomfortable touch controls.

... I don't get it. I've played some Futari 1.5 and while watching the first person play this game the girl reco or whoever is making sounds as if you got hit by a bullet, as well as the fact that the plays ship makes the bullets around it kind of dissipate into nothing, which also kinda happens when you die.... but he's not actually dieing?

Eiter way looks to be poo. Day purchase = never

Why do I get the feeling that this will be free?
Either way, day one purchase/download for me too. The trailer looks too well-made for the game to suck.

There's no way this is getting a release outside of Asian markets.

Not sure what's up with the bullets being canceled, but there's also a big player HP bar on the screen.

I think there's some sort of RPGish upgrade-system going on

Judging by the fun I'm having with the up-to-4-player versus-mode on the newly released Android port of Strikers II I'm pretty sure this could be really good!

I'm having the same dilemma.

Co-op play sounds fun, but how many people are going to make use of that function?
