For those who celebrate Christmas and to those who don't give a damn, I hope you have a nice one.
Oh and in retrospect 2005 has been an incredible year for shooters eh?
Ta ta!

Great story.Sly Cherry Chunks wrote:One Christmas Eve in the early 90s, I was doing some last minute shopping around Sheffield and I found that they had the R-Type II coin op in Just Micro. (The computer store beneath what used to be the Gremlin Graphics offices.)
Anyway, I was about 12 at the time and I thought that this was the most amazing game I had ever seen in my life. Unfortunately I couldn't stay in town all day and had to go home so I bought some glow-in-the-dark Fimo from Beaties (hobby store which no longer exists) and made models of all the R-Type characters while I watched the New Adventures of He-Man.
-And I have made sure to play R-Type II on every Christmas Eve since then.

I was six when I was given my first console, an A2600 and a small pile of games. Even with stuff like Combat, Pac-Man, ET and others, I always ended up playing Stargate. You do realise you'll be eating that thing until the New Year. Turkey sarnies, turkey pie, turkey curry, turkey pasties, turkey casserole, turkey kebabs, turkey quiche... ^_-ST Dragon wrote:We have just started cooking a very large stuffed turkey. I also bought a huge Christmas pudding.
Bah, that's nothin': people in the U.S. are probably still finishing their turkey leftovers from Thanksgiving, and they're about to get another one for Christmas, heh heh.Icarus wrote:You do realise you'll be eating that thing until the New Year. Wow...we pretty much share the same 1980 Christmas story then. Except, I actually new that I was getting an Atari VCS.llabnip wrote:In 1980 I was a boy roughly 10 years of age. On Christmas morning I held a package on my lap that was nearly half the length of me - rectangular and impressive in size even wrapped so secretly. I was pretty sure I knew what it was but never expected the impact to be so far reaching. When I removed the wrap I held aloft my Atari 2600 Video Computer System and was nearly giddy with joy. In my mom's old photo album, I found a picture of me with the box (still wrapped) on my lap. That photo captures the last moment before video games became an integral part of my life. It's amazing to think of how things have changed since then... and how much they remain the same.
Happy Holidays!
Wow, I don’t think we've ever made all those cool stuff out of turkey before (what's "sarnies", "casserole" & "quiche" by the way?Icarus wrote:MERRY CRISPMATS EVERYONE!
