But what about my desert island scenario
Really, DRM on anything, anywhere, is a tragedy in my eyes. Just the idea that you could be banned from your own games (as remote a possibility as it is) is really terrifying.

Instead I am stuck in the America's where women rule with an iron crotch, and a man could get arrested for sitting behind a computer too long.

His last credit is "3D After Burner II (2013) - Planner, Graphic Designer"
I guess you can try to read his cryptic blogs on vgmaterials.com, nobody wanted to translate them when I linked them here though.
I can predict how well that would go for me considering how disastrous that was for me in Raiden IV. But it's still a neat feature, even if I wouldn't be picking up this version anytime soon(need to get a new computer first).

It says it has "Vertical Screen Mode support" on the Steam page, besides that I don't see why options it's had in every port would be missing from this one.

It's the same as the 360 port right? So I don't have to add new tables to the Hi-Score post?
Aw Jeez (frothing).. I guess i'll buy this game again..
Won't know till someone plays it, the only official word I read was them just saying it was "based" on the 360 version which is vague. According to the XBLA version credits Atsutomu Nakagawa was the main programmer for both the original and the 360 version, so it's hard to be hopeful, I can understand leaving out slowdown on purpose but all the other things... best case scenario I guess is that whoever did the testing for the 360 version didn't know all the details about the game and Treasure people never found out about the differences and by the time xbox patches didn't cost money it was way too late. So now they know and would fix it. Or something.
Zaarock wrote:Is the NESiCA version different from the 360 one? If they didn't fix things for an arcade rerelease I find it hard to believe they would for this one.
If I recall correctly, the Xbox 360 changes were intentional, that's probably the way ports of Ikaruga are going to be handled from now on.
Blinge wrote:Well I bought it, and it doesn't work with my ps3 stick.
Everything else on PC does, MAME, other steam games.
Great.
It didn't with me (Qanba Q3 XS) for a bit, I was just about to break out the XPadder, but I just put the stick in a different port, restarted Ikaruga and it worked fine .
I watched the replay of the guy at top of leaderboards and cried

He updated his blog today announcing he's developing a shooter at M2 as a downloadable Playstation 4 game (at least at first). It sounds like the 50YW game he's been talking about since 2010 (before he worked on Kokuga), but I can't read Japanese to make out any details.

Very interesting, I almost gave up on reading the blog after so many posts about KORG DSs and old CDs
Will try to see if I can make out anything more from that post.
edit: yeah this looks really cool, a full blown console shmup, goes against the grain by being on PS4 in the first place (though it may be multiplatform later like he says), and there's a chance of him teaming up with Namiki like M2 said at that conference too
