Thanks for the wiki link - I'll hunt down one that is the same spec as that.

Ok so it only worth it if you want the bery best with the mini, but more generally nowadays it doesn't worth it to modify a +150$ cable.

Well, D-Terminal connectors aren't the most convenient solution anyway and it's very easy to mod the cable with a switch to select between RGBHV and component output whenever you like. I would say that the cable is certainly of more us this way than in it's original form.

Use composite sync (pin 5b) on the Jaguar end rather than composite video for sync and all your problems will disappear.
Hi,
I have no problems now.. Removing all grounds baring pin 4 as made my rgb scart crystal clear..

But I intend on making a new one so I'll try pin 5b, but what scart PIN number should I wire it to ?

Sync always goes to SCART pin 20.

Interesting, so do I leave all the grounds on and connect 5b @ 11b to pin 20, as I thought 11b was video sync ? This is for euro scart.

Is the what you are saying..

From Jaguar end..

1A to scart pin 6, 5A to scart pin 7, 5B to scart pin 20 ?, 7A to scart pin 11 & 11A to scart pin 8 which is linked to scart pin 16 via 330ohms resister. I believe this is required to hit RGB mode for jaguar.

1B to scart pin 2, 4B scart pin 15, 10B grounds scart pins 4, 5, 9, 13, 17 & 18.
11B to scart pin 20 ?

It's strange how removing all grounds but scart pin 4 worked for me ? Anyhow please take a look and give your advice cheers.

Great, thanks very much.
I'm getting a Mega Everdrive to put in my modded PAL MD, and hope the XRGB will happily still improve the image.

That's a weird device. An HDMI capture device that doesn't require a PC. I understand the buttons, but what are the ext. jacks for? Can you plug their new red button in there?

I'm still curious about what's on the back. It looks like DVI and VGA ports, but I don't see an option to select the input source. Maybe some switches?

The big red button device is cool. They used their 25 year old XE-1 stick chassis design for that.

It doesn't require a PC? Where are your captures stored then?

Looks like the Avermedia Portable to me, where the files get recorded to the (Micro) SD Card.

Yeah, most likely a one-touch system like the Avermedia Live Gamer Pro.

On a MD you'd do best by just cutting that NTSC clock from the VDP. Kills of most of the jailbars instantly.

While playing a PS2 game that supports 480p while using RGB I get a slight green effect on letters. The effect seems to disappear when setting Image Mode to Standard but that makes the picture too soft. This problem doesn't happen when using Component. I've bumped up the colors to make it easier to see in the picture. This is what it looks like zoomed in:

Anyone know what could be causing this?

That adapter centre pin neg or pos??, as the MD is supposed to be centre pin neg, or though i think that the MD might have a reflector circuit inside it but if the pin polarity is wrong it may cause some interference

Is this what you mean?

Presumably I'd still benefit from the Mini? When I use the MD on my 46" panasonic the picture looks awful/pixelated.

doesn't look like it. He's probably talking about adding the capacitor to the RGB encoder. You don't need to do this. Just cut a single pin from the video chip.

Of course you'll benefit from the Mini, but since the scanlines are there on the source signal, the Mini along with the stripper you're using can only do so much. Taking care of them right at the source is the better way.

The PSU in the pic is for the XRGB Mini - which I dont have yet :) I'm presuming it would be fine?
