I was disapointed even though it was only US$20 new. Just not enough screen options and the emulation was not as good as I've seen with other packs (i.e. Konami Arcade Classics on the PS1 which is a real winner). I guess I still feel like it's a good pack - at less than a buck a game. Some games 'feel' better done than others... Jungle King seems quite good and is a fun as the arcade game. Pheonix seems strangely off... then again I prefer the Atari 2600 version which (due to the streamlined nature of the 2600) actually came off as a faster playing more fun experience. I would have liked to have seen more shooters too (the few that are on here are not all that stunning). Let's hope the 2nd volume is better!

A truly great recommendation. Tons of fun in this game - it's addicting as hell and fast as lightning. Playing the computer is fun, but get 2 good players and this is an epic duel.

Well... it's hard to beat US$5 for a new copy of Vampire Hunter. It's a great game on the Saturn - the 2nd best non-ramcart fighter IMO (Street Fighter Zero 2-dash is the best fighter on the system as far as I'm concerned - ramcart or not). I find that 100% arcade perfect is not worth troubling over in the slightest if a game is a clear winner in terms of gameplay, fun and atmosphere. If you can get the arcade setup for $5, then I guess that's the best route. Otherwise, I'd recommend Vampire Hunter on the Saturn as its an amazing game and save your money for more games... furthermore I'd recommend Hunter over Savior (though only minimally... and I'd suggest getting both eventually if you've got a Saturn).
Depends on how often you're going to play them. 12 seconds of loading per round drives me nuts, as I have no patience. Anyways, you'd rather buy more games rather than a better version of your favourite? Not trying to be offensive, I respect that you care about gameplay unlike most of these hooligans, but I gotta question the logic there.

Anyways, unscathed, my local best buy has tons of CCC's in stock...I can help out if needed. It makes me sad seeing them there.

I was gonna ignore legends in favor of getting both memories packs, or at least the one with arcade-perfect G. Darius...does Legends have any exclusives?

Is Plump Pop running properly in mame? The control seems very odd, you think it'll be like arkanoid with pigs but you can only get into 3 spots. It says on bootup there's a bad rom so I'm wondering since the collection uses mame how it works on there.

Any comments on that PS2 shaking thing with Taito Legends? Is this a major problem or a minor issue?

I play often and for hours at a time.

That's probably the difference. It doesn't bother me in the slightest. 12 seconds of rest between rounds is just about right for me. I haven't seen a Darkstalkers type cab anywhere in my area for a long time. All of my Vampire Hunter goodness comes in the form of the Saturn so that's become the defacto version for me and those I play against/with. Come to think of it, I'm getting pissed that the Arcade rev is not Saturn-perfect ;)

I'm sure the PS2 port is quite good. I'm more than pleased with the great job Capcom did on the Saturn rev.

I've heard of this phenomenon, yet my PS 2 handles it just fine, just the occasional disc read error, but amazingly no shaking. Gotta be some possessed PS 2's. ;)
