So is it a vertizontal like souky and radiant silvergun? Or is it a proper vertical shooter? If the latter, does this version allow for tate?

I've got a copy waiting for me at Gamestop, but I likely won't get there til tomorrow. Weather is crap.

Chaos Field is vertizontal (like So-Q and RSG, yes).

Anybody ordered a copy of New Order yet? I wouldn't mind selling my JP GC version now if the PS2 version turns out to have substantially more/better stuff.

This is something I've heard about this game-- reminiscent of Radiant Silvergun.

Yes, it's all bosses, even moreso than Radiant Silvergun. There's nothing defective with your game.

I guess another aspect in which this game resembles RSG is how you already have multiple weapons accessible at the beginning with button combinations.

Is there an Arrange Mode in the PS2 version? GC CF had such a mode that gives you popcorn enemies to fight between bosses.

you can see from the short video i posted what i mean...look at Shikigami II playing on the right with intense action...and look at CF:NE playing on the left...both are at level 1.

I have to give CF:NE more time as I dont like to new shmups bad reviews ...but so far its not my favorite.

Got it at Gamestop, and believe it or not it was still wrapped. It will stay that way until Christmas, and probably for a while after that. Right now I am focused on Gunbird 2.

Picked it up the other day at the Gamestop at Juniperro Serra next to Target. The clerk said someone else pre-ordered a copy. Is it someone from this forum? :)

Bought it tonight, oddly enough EBGames isn't carrying it in my area (they always carry the odd games).

I think it's an OK game, the Euro trance-esque soundtrack fits the game nicely. I hate the timer, though, and the sword -- by using the sword, it basically takes away the fun of dodging bullet sprays. But, after not using it for awhile, I guess Milestone made it so that using the sword is essential for survival.

I think the bosses are really well done, my favorites so far are the second level ones. I had expected the sub-bosses to be some generic kind of fodder for the real bosses, but the camera angles and unique attacks make the fights that more interesting. Playing in Chaos Field and not Order Field is also substantially more fun.

Anyways, yeah, I think it's OK...it really is very reminiscient of Radiant Silvergun, right down to the sword.
