Some of us here are part of the fgc dude lol. Oh and this:

No. The only thing this video proves (and daigo's performance in evo and videos lately) is that daigo's e.ryu is just still shitty.
I'd hardly say so considering he's ranked #1 in Japanese arcades by a good margin with ~80% win rate. He just had a bad tournament, that's all.
Finals should be interesting. I think Fuudo looks the safest bet at this point but I'd really like Bonchan to make his mark on EVO and take the whole thing. Sako's a personal favourite but he's looked a bit patchy thus far, I hope he at least sticks with Ibuki/E.Ryu for the remainder of the tournament.
Skykid wrote:Where can I find the KOF 13 Final online? My time zone makes it way difficult to watch these live. And who were the two finalists?
Xiaohai won KOF. Honestly, Chinese people should be winning KOF, it's an embarassment not to, it's all they play. Also this one was a Diaoyu Islands battle: national pride at stake.
Tokido's Chin is disturbing. I think KOF 13's drive is a little heavily weighted. Chin with full drive stocks - one touch and it's bar gone. No wonder Xiaohai was so convicted to getting him removed at all costs.
Not as hype as the 2012 final, but still good stuff.
Looking forward to seeing Ultra tonight. Again I'm so sorry to ask for info you might think I can easily google (I can't) but I'll be up until 4am tonight to watch the World Cup Final, meaning I should be able to catch the Ultra finals. Can someone tell me what the start time will be in Vegas so I can check it against my time zone and where the best place is to catch the stream? My tablet will play Youtube videos, but certain flash plug-ins won't run (better look see if there's an Android app that can patch this up.)
Blazblue Finals is amazing. Garireo staged one hell of a comeback to reset, and has taken it to 2-2 in the reset bracket! Down to the wire.
And he's done it! Won the finals from the loser's bracket!
BlazBlue grand finals were AMAZING! Best matches I've seen in all of EVO so far, especially when you consider Dogura knocked Galileo into loser's with a 3-0. Just awesome.
Skykid wrote:Sorry I'm green on this: what's the reset bracket?
I know Tokido initiated the reset in the KOF final, but I'm not sure what it is.
I'm probably using the wrong terminology lol, but the player from the losers side has to win two complete sets (so six matches total) to win the finals, resetting everything after the first set, while the player from the winners side only has to win one set (three matches). Matchups in the top 8s are usually first to three.

EVO is double elimination. Everyone starts in winner's bracket, and if you lose a first-to-two set, you get knocked into loser's bracket. If you lose again, you're out. So in grand finals, whoever's in loser's bracket has to beat his opponent in a first-to-three set twice. It's an uphill battle.
You have to lose 2 sets to be eliminated, so reaching finals from winners side means you haven't lost a set. Losers champ has to beat winners champ twice to win. Beating them once is resetting the bracket
Oh man.. Dogura choked that so hard, I wanted him to win aswell.
I also heard from commentators and stream that Bullet is one of the worst characters, and I main her =/
..might have to pick up Azrael
Saltybet made Killer Instinct totally enjoyable for me haha. Gotta love how bassy that game sounds, DUNDUNDUN on the hits, that whack-ass industrial metal soundtrack
The net increase in manliness from BB players to KI was pretty funny.
Hearing these commentators is pretty embarrassing, at least. I can get behind people competing with their imaginary fighters, but when a pair with headsets is running commentary as if they're watching an actual boxing / wrestling / martial arts match, it feels a little too LARPy.

Evo commentation is one of the best parts. They break stuff down you might not know about the game. And yes these games are actually deeper than you think, they are as deep if not deeper than the sports you mentioned.

there's nothing wrong with a commentator and I agree, they're in a position where they can granularly explain a decision or match. their delivery and presentation is what's embarrassing.
Yes. and a technical, experienced Fox main at that O_O
Axe is pretty much the best Pika the game has ever seen, he's pushed that character further than anyone else.
also about the commentator criticism: thanks for the input, guys
