I haven't had time to check out the new screen resolution options, so please excuse if something like this is already available. If not, Blackbird, could you maybe ask Yotsubane whether he'd be willing to add a few image filters? Maybe bilinear filtering and a few scan line options. Kega Fusion has a nice selection of filters and uses some kind of open format, if I'm not mistaken, so that might be a good starting point for a relatively quick addition. It would be neat to have --- at least for those not playing on a CRT.

Isn't that a little superfluous? I mean, the arcade nesica version doesn't have that.

Thank you Yotsubane! The update fixed my menu keyboard ghosting problem, support for 4:3/3:4 aspect ratio and low res video modes. Now that's what I call an update!

Blackbird,

some more suggestions: in the English tutorial for Boost/Novice, the screen says at one point "you ship" instead of "your ship".

Further, it would be neat if Yotsubane added an option to the game settings to deactivate the tutorial, maybe a simple switch like "Tutorial [ON/OFF]", that applies to all game modes. After you've watched it once, you probably skip it anyway in all subsequent runs.

Has the Training Mode bug been fixed yet?
iconoclast wrote:Seems like there's a small bug in training mode. Whenever you retry a stage, I think it saves the amount of stars you've accumulated until you beat the boss. So after practicing stage 2 for a while, I ended the stage with like 1.4 million stars total for a huge bonus. I don't think I did that well!
The only way around it so far is to quit the run back to the Training Mode menu.

Here're my findings with the new v1.02 update (weighs in at a meager 386.2mb file size compared to the previous v1.01 update at 353.7mb d/l):

No matter what low-res setting I choose at 320 x 240 to 640 x 480 in full screen mode, the overall framerate tends to hover around 57.1fps to 57.2fps during a game session (whereas on the main title screen, the framerate runs anywhere from 56.0fps to 58.5fps at best) -- which a message will appear at the end of any given stage: "Due to current framerate, the score will be registered as an unofficial record." Hmmm.....at the very least, such replays are still saveable if so desired.

At least with the previous v1.01 update, it was possible to upload my highest score without that dreaded message that appears with this current v1.02 update.

Am running a notebook with a Pentinum 1.9GHz CPU + 2mb L3 cache with 4GB of DDR memory and the obligatory Win 8.1 OS. I'm sure some more necessary RAM would be necessary to reach the desired arcade-spec 60fps framerate as the "gold standard."

Such is the quandary with running Crimson Clover with my current notebook setup. Still can't reach the ideal 1280 x 720p screen mode running at a consist 60fps would be nice though.

It's great to be able to use the optional Hori Real Arcade Pro setup such as the 360 based HRAP EX-SE & the HRAP VX SE Kai sticks endowed with Seimitsu parts during a serious gaming session of Crimson Clover, indeed.

I usually quit or restart before the boss whenever I play training mode now, but I'm 99% sure that bug was also fixed in 1.02.

It seems it has been fixed. There's a glitch when you restart level 1 however; while in the submarine launch sequence you can fire your weapons and fly around as an invisible ship.

Another one: when navigating through the Rankings using the keyboard, pressing "change mode" or "change ship" skips certain selections (e.g. you can view only ship Type I and Type III scores). This happens ONLY when you have two controllers plugged in, so it has to do with the "Keyboard controls both ships" bug (keypresses in the Rankings register twice).

Your computer does not meet the minimum specs, thus the issues with the framerate. If software requires X, but you don't fulfil X then you can't claim that there is a bug in it.

I noticed that with 1.02, changing between fullscreen and windowed modes messes up the frame rate limiter. I'm running a solid 60 fps whenever I start the game, but if I switch, the game runs at a jerky 57-58 fps, even in the menus. Alt-tabbing out of a game started in fullscreen does the same. The resolution in the fullscreen or desktop refresh rate doesn't matter, it's always the same behaviour. The only way to restore 60 fps is a restart.

Maybe it's the same bug you're encountering? Resolution switching might trigger it as well. Try restarting the game after selecting 640x480 and see if it helps.

I had that happen as well the first time I ran 1.02, ending up with the Unofficial Record warning. Restarting fixed it.
One more nice option would be "Arcade as default" instead of novice for the difficulty select.

Only thing pending I can see is the ability to use modifier keys (Ctrl/alt etc) rather than just alphanumeric, without needing some keyboard emulation middleware.

New screen options work well.

There's a bug when using AutoHotKey for remapping keyboard keys.

The game thinks that there's both ships being selected through the rescripted keyboard keys (AWSD operating as arrow keys), but this only happens if a USB controller is plugged in. Otherwise it's perfectly fine. I was actually able to do a doubleplay this way, pretty neat but still a bug.

I've gotten word that Yotsubane is aware of the keyboard double control bug and is working on a fix. How do you guys feel about the FPS cutoff for "unofficial scores"? Maybe it should be a bit more lenient for people with lower PC specs?

Keep the bugs coming.
