Here's some fucked up shit. I arrived at Hey! and saw someone playing Ketusi. He was just sitting at the bottom of the screen blowing shit up, so I thought "man, he really sucks" then realized he was on the second loop. O_o. He cleared it with like 5 ships left (normal loop, not ura). First time for me to see that in person. What happened next? Someone else sat down and got to stage 3 or 4 on the 2nd loop. Unreal... a game hard as nails and two consecutivce people get that far in it. :/

Bear in mind that the game has been out for several years, so players have had plenty of time to get used to the system and the game. No doubt that it'd be amazing to watch in person, yes, but it would be more amazing if the game itself had only been out for a couple of weeks ^_-GaijinPunch wrote:Unreal... a game hard as nails and two consecutivce people get that far in it. :/

BTW, you might want to check out INH's Ketsui DVD page for a new sample, showing some footage from the DVD.
Of particular interest is the 10 seconds worth of very interesting DOOM final pattern evasion footage ^_^

Some new details about the Mushi DVD package gleaned from INH's site (http://www.inhgroup.com/item/hime/):
-The Maniac replay will be WITHOUT RAPID FIRE, while the Original and Ultra replays will be WITH RAPID FIRE. The Original and Maniac mode replays will be from the #1 players in those respective modes. The Maniac score will be 950+mil. The Ultra mode score is by a guy called TGA-RET, though they do not say his score is the best in the world, just that he clears it on a credit.
-As you play the DVD there will be audio commentary by the developer Ikeda-san, Princess Reko (
), and each of the three players. This commentary can be turned on or off at your leisure.
-In addition to the 3 game mode replays, there will also be a 4th replay section which is sorta like a tutorial on how to master patterns and techniques in the game and play like a 'super player'.
-As you play each mode comments are written in Japanese in the right portion of the screen.
All in all this looks like a really cool DVD, and I am going to preorder it for sure. If you can't read Japanese or understand spoken Japanese however, it's not going to be quite as valuable due to all the strats being explained in Japanese, as well as the audio commentary being in Japanese.
Also, the DVD is Region-2, not region-free. So you'll need a region-free DVD player or something like a Japanese PS2 to play it.

IIRC there is a particular method to force the true final boss' last pattern to open up gaps in the bullet wave. If you've played against the TLB in Arranged Mode, you'll notice that the last pattern is based on streams of large fireballs being fired, and these fireballs in turn will radiate bullets out at regular intervals as they travel across the screen.twe wrote:Holy crap, I just read the bottom of INH's site and it has some bios about the players. It says on the DVD TGA-RET's Ultra-mode replay is a NO MISS CLEAR! Is he the only person to beat Ultra without dying? I doubted it was even possible.
If you can force one stream of fireballs to fire off the side of the screen, you can dramatically cut down the amount of bullets you have to deal with.

The boxset also comes with the remix soundtrack and a 70-page booklet with all the game infos and illustrations.twe wrote:Some new details about the Mushi DVD package gleaned from INH's site (http://www.inhgroup.com/item/hime/):

My question is, I don't know how is that remix soundtrack going to sounds like, since I already have the arcade Mushi OST.

i have to disagree, i just got the PCB and on a good day i can 1life to stage 4 (i am by nomeans a pro or anything like that), sure i may use a bomb or two (one at 2nd boss "sidepattern", one at 3rd midboss "crazy spray", the rest at 3rd boss) but the aleged diffulculty of ketsui is very much over-rated.GaijinPunch wrote:Here's some fucked up shit. DDP DOJ is definetly alot harder than Ketsui. ive been playing that game alot more and can barley make my way to the 4th stage using bombs and dying...

What is your score? I think zakk mentioned it earlier, but if you ignore score it can be pretty easy through stage 3. However, Stage 5 is going to rape you.sven666 wrote:i have to disagree, i just got the PCB and on a good day i can 1life to stage 4 (i am by nomeans a pro or anything like that), sure i may use a bomb or two (one at 2nd boss "sidepattern", one at 3rd midboss "crazy spray", the rest at 3rd boss) but the aleged diffulculty of ketsui is very much over-rated.GaijinPunch wrote:Here's some fucked up shit. was the doj-omake vid on arika' site from Black Label? That vid was insane.Valgar wrote:There is a NO MISS Hibachi from DOJ Black Label. You get more hypers in BL...I don't know if it has been done in White Label (I think so). No NO MISS on DOOM.
also i wouldn't conclude doom is worse, one situation people can simulation mode their way directly to the 2-5 bosses for practice, the other you need to complete a SPECIAL loop, no port, even less simulation mode.
