a computer is all you need to "get into" electronic music. you have free softwares like lmms(free, windows), FLP and ableton (paid, windows), install it, explore its capabilities and yours. get a bunch of free vst's and fx plugins (recommend, synth1 free, tal free plugins, voxengo free plugins), see what you can get up to. try remaking songs you like, or try re-imagining songs you like. then may be get a good hardware keyboard with midi support (makes things easier). do learn some music theory if you dont know already.okerlo wrote:Hello Shmups-Community!
Alright, this is gonne be one hell of a beginner post but I think I'm in the right thread at least.
I have no musical experience at all, the only instrument I have is an acoustic guitar that is standing in the corner for years now and is collecting dust.
For some years now I've gone from various metal genres to the more electronic world of music and for quite some time now I'm thinking about getting into music-production, you know, as a creative hobby. As I said I have no experience whatsoever so when I listen to songs like this or that one I feel that I'm liking them, I can somewhat get into the rhythm but I couldn't tell for example what hardware was used in the song.
Can you recommend me any ressources on how to "get into" electronic music? In terms of what hardware is available, how to get started, essential albums or good communities?
Thank you very much in advance!
Greetings
