Puzzle and Dragon kind of swallowed that niche, but it isn't exactly a virtual world.
IMO no body wants to confront Nintendo and have any legal issue with them.
Since Pokemon is a really big and well known franchise any lawsuit against a company that might have cloned pokemon could end in a bankrupty, you know, you'd better don't make Nintendo angry if you don't want to be crushed like a fly.

New Ace Attorney game announced for 3DS, and what an awesome idea! I do really like this series, although I admit it needs some freshening up. But I would never have guessed placing it in the Meiji era, such a neat spin.

Safe to say I'm quite excited about this one.

I agree, but hopefully we'll get a proper physical release this time.

It's getting harder and harder for me to pretend like this game series actually takes place in America, with American characters.

Damn, didn't realise Dual Destinies wasn't released physically outside of Japan.

Guess I'll put off buying that one until this one comes out - and yes, physical release required.

Out of interest, does the JP release of DD have an English language option, or have they stopped doing that a long time ago?

They have only done it with the the original trilogy ports, on DS. I can also confirm that they did it with the recently released AA 1-3 Collection, for 3DS. I just booted up my copy and saw the option for it.

EDIT: I forgot to add. Totally looking forward to that new announced installment. I dig the whole Meiji era thing. :D

The only remakes that made sense were FireRed & LeafGreen, considering the roughness of the original games. Second generation and third generation remakes are just lazy.

At least the G/S remake doesn't have a battery that goes dead faster than most other games for GB.

I think Pokemon is really the only thing holding Nintendo back from total financial collapse at this point.

Word is that they have a Skylanders clone with its own toyline on the way, most likely Pokemon related. Can the market really support a third one of these games?

Ah, the Japanese seem to have a real knack for understated trailers. ".... we have a thing coming out in three months. Please consider buying it if it's not too rude of me to ask...... we'll have screen shots for you in two and a half months, maybe...."

One month to go for Persona Q's Japanese release. There may be one or two people left on the planet who didn't see Koro-chan's character trailer, which is a shame.

If I weren't sick to death of vidya games and if it actually has skill trees, man...

Bumping this thread. I'm considering picking up the Kid Icarus 3DS game but I've heard the control scheme is awful to actually use. Is it worth the hand cramps to play it? :D

E3 is nudging me closer to a 3DS purchase (how many times have I said that now?). It's probably the urge to play Phoenix Wright 5, plus Intelligent Systems' new strategy game. I mean, those are what got me to buy a DS in the first place, all those years ago.

Personally, I feel it's worth it and the included stand makes the game more comfortable to use. I had more issues with the analog nub (which takes some getting used to) than the touch screen.

KI:U does feel quite cumbersome at the beginning. But once the control scheme clicks it really feels very fitting for such a fast-paced game. There is also a plethora of control options you can tweak for your liking - I suggest setting aiming sensivity from the beginning to the max speed.

Thanks for the opinions. Now I'm suffering from a bit of sticker shock; it costs $10 more than your average 3DS game new. Maybe I can find a used copy .. I'm not entirely convinced I need that stupid stand it comes with.

Just get a 3DS...I bought one last Christmas and it's my most played console by far.
Extra bonus...you can use it on business trips and while traveling!

My ex dropped at least one, if not two, DSes into the pooper. Other stories with other people with other devices (cell phones) I have heard.

I don't understand how women manage to do that. It's like a gun, you don't point it at anything you don't want to kill. With the toilet, you don't put anything above it you don't want going inside. Basic toilet safety.

I dunno. FR/LG seem awfully rough when it comes to presentation quality. HG/SS is still my favorite version of Pokemon, and I'm constantly disappointed that certain little things [the highly touch-optimized menus, for one] didn't carry over.

something tells me OR/AS will be rather lazy though

How long do these things last? My G/S battery died only two years ago.

it feels kind of bad having a GBC cart with duct-tape on the inside holding the battery to the terminals though
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

They are supposed to last five years, but most of my games with batteries still have it working. However, G/S has a built in clock, that also uses the battery, so the battery doesn't last as long.
