SRSLY. or at least a cdi file. That would be no cost minus the bugfixing in the DC version.ptoing wrote:I wonder if there will be a free disc replacement for people who bought the DC version, esp since getting a whole bunch of discs pressed does not cost too much.

While technically true, this is barely true of high quality CD-Rs, however, you make a good point, and I think you're right.ptoing wrote:Burnt CDs are not that great for the laser mechanism in the DC, and really, it is less than a euro per pressed CD if you press 1000 or so of them.

I think this is also something they should probably do. Not having demos is pretty dumb, IMO. FWIW, you could probably rip the image off of the CD as simply as "cdirip /dev/sr0" in linux, and probably not too much more difficult in Windows / Mac, so saying "we refuse to give you a cdi file because piracy" is a little bit silly. You might actually just be able to copy the unmounted CD directly in linux. I wouldn't be half surprised, because everything is a file (cdirip would give you the audio files and an iso, which is a bit more messy). The thing is, Piracy is incredibly easy with Dreamcast games, regardless. it'd be a little harder with an actual GD rom, but that's a moot point because they are no longer manufacturedptoing wrote:I doubt they would ever throw out .cdi files, because piracy. But if I was them, I would make demo versions people could just burn. First 2 or so levels. Why not? Oh yeah, let's avoid people actually getting to play the game before they buy it.

seriously. Not to mention that the MVS version has had an update already since the release of the DC ver.gameoverDude wrote:I just purchased the Dreamcast one, but will rebuy the game if there's a Neo-Geo CD version (which would likely be free of the DC version bugs). This shouldn't be too hard with NX weighing in at only 264 Meg. Losing bomb fragments and also having the stage 2 boss be invulnerable at times are things I'd rather not deal with.

The DC GunLord was based on the final release, so why not Neo Xyx as well?LordHypnos wrote:seriously. Not to mention that the MVS version has had an update already since the release of the DC ver.
People have made translation patches and shit for DC games, but yeah, I imagine it is neither easy nor necessarily easy to do with something more complex than translation.gameoverDude wrote:The DC GunLord was based on the final release, so why not Neo Xyx as well?LordHypnos wrote:seriously. Sometimes I think they need to go with Xbox 360 or PS3, especially if it makes patching possible. M2 can help out with the emulation side of things.
Shame there isn't an EASY way to patch the DC version.

This would be amazing for another LE release. Last Hope on the Neo Geo CD runs great and loads super fast. I'd buy Neo XYX for it in a heartbeat if it was made available.gameoverDude wrote:I just purchased the Dreamcast one, but will rebuy the game if there's a Neo-Geo CD version (which would likely be free of the DC version bugs). There are a hundred million other games you could be playing (for free, even) instead of shelling out for any more NGDEV/Hucast junk.DMC wrote:Yeah, exactly...and beggars can't be choosers.

This game is not junk. Or do you mean the care taken over the bug's that have crept in as i do agree this shouldn't have happenedGSK wrote:There are a hundred million other games you could be playing (for free, even) instead of shelling out for any more NGDEV/Hucast junk.DMC wrote:Yeah, exactly...and beggars can't be choosers.
