Looks like all of my guesses were wrong. I was clandestinely expecting Acrobat Mission to show up, that seems like a game you'd pick, trap15. I'm also sad that we didn't get to play a single horizontal shooter. Oh well!
At least you had fun, AKo. Which I can't say for last week, but hey. You're a champ in my eyes.

"Remember that retarded system in Under Defeat where you have to lose all your lives in order to max out the score multiplier? Guess where they took their inspiration from!"
I sure hope you guys like milking really easy patterns for 5 minutes on end!
Why I cannot recover my shield in the beginning of stage 3, is there any different version of this game? And I just get x10 on the stage 4 boss but this video is x100
Wow you guys finally get a game (besides Strikers) with solid patterns, solid level design, a great art style, and all I hear is complaints about boss milking that nobody here will probably need to use lol.
This is probably the second best game in the tournament so far after Strikers. Enjoy it while you can, before we have to play Bioship Paladin or some shit.

The game never really gets particularly hard, I'd say. I think a lot of people should be able to clear it at least. Only once you start scoring the later stages does the game really begin
It seems that when you die in the middle of the stage, you can't get x10 multiplier of the boss, but you can suicide at the beginning of the stage and that doesn't affect the boss multiplier.
Anyone knows what separates these two scenarios? To certain part of the stage, pick up certain item or kill some enemies ?

I'm pretty sure as long as you lose your shield before the boss starts (and no-miss the boss), you'll get the multiplier. The boss can "start" before it appears on the screen, though - you can hear the boss music starting earlier when it looks like you're still in the "stage."

You only get the *10 to the ending multiplier if it's your last life, which is important. So you can't go into a boss with x5 when you could be going in with x10, no-miss and expect to get x50. In that case you must go for the full x100 if you want the *10 to the ending multiplier.
NMK's flashing bullets are still irritating (not as bad as USAAF Mustang, but worse than Thunder Dragon 2 IMO since the brownish color tends to blend in with the backgrounds), and the horizontal camera scrolling is wack as hell (you can scroll the camera by pressing yourself against the edge of the screen), but other than that it seems pretty decent. I'd hope I get better quickly, though, as dying in the first two stages is going to get old quickly...

I have had some runs that lost all my shield long before the boss fight (and before music change), but still just get a x5 instead of x50.
Perhaps I need to do some more research.
I should let everyone know that the most recent MAME versions (0.155 and beyond) have better sound (and graphics) for this game, done by our very own trap15.
Just to be entirely safe: it's still stage over score, right? I've seen people post scores that were higher in terms of score but worse in terms of progress, so I'm a bit perplexed.

I haven't read that spiel dude, could someone briefly explain why shmupmame is shit? Is it because it supports fewer games?
I've got hold of mameplus now anyway.
