I thought Bee Storm has 7 stages, not 8?

Also, so much for

I always promise excellent games, and I don't think I've ever failed (except for Galmedes's easy infinite pattern, oops).

So I noticed on the warm-up boss that players are able to get bee medals spawning from it, but I don't know exactly how to pull this off :o

Is there something that I'm missing that's keeping the bee medals from spawning?

I think you have to kill all four of the enemies before it (bomb).

And I always thought TRP-STGT was a danmaku-free 21st-century-free tournament.

You know, I actually kind of like this game; objectively I think it's pretty good as long as you lower your expectations a bit.

This happens to be my week off from classes, so there's a 50/50 chance I'll end up submitting a score that isn't complete garbage.

What other ROMs are required to make ddp2j run?

You probably need pgm and ddp2.

Bee Storm is honestly not that bad of a game, but the enemies get waaay too tanky in the latter half of the game, and I'm not a big fan of how much dying screws over score and how few lives the game gives (no score extends and only one fixed extend).

Well at the moment I can't get this to work even though I have DDP2, DDP2j and PGM roms. It's still saying I have roms missing. Any help?

What version of MAME are you using? I've heard of other people having that problem too. Try MAME Plus if you haven't already.

You don't need a bomb to kill all four bees.

TRP-STGT 2015: Year of the Insect Theme

So what's next? Insector-X?

I'm just happy that Sand Scorpion is done.

it wasn't working for me, said it was missing "ddp2_igs027a_japan.bin", so i copied "ddp2_igs027a_japan.bin" from ddp2j to ddp2, then it worked. odd, and not sure it'll help you, but there you go.

I think cheap knock-offs is more apt!

I have a sneaking suspicion that trap peruses Rob's old arcade countdown looking for funny entries.

Erppo wrote this in our local high score thread:
Edit: I guess it should be ALL EX, since apparently you can clear the game without getting to the TLB stage.
Just out of curiosity: how are we going to handle this situation regarding the stage over score matter? Stage 6 < ALL < Stage 7 < ALL EX? Stage 6 < Stage 7 < ALL < ALL EX? Stage 6 < Stage 7 < ALL = ALL EX? And what are the precise requirements for triggering the TLB, anyway?

Exed Exes would be another prime candidate.

I'm gonna go with 6 < ALL = 7 < ALL EX, I guess. You by definition have less points on an ALL than a Stage 7 anyways. The trigger is getting 500 million points I believe, which isn't too hard if you get that far.

The score required to access the final stage seems to be at least 400,000,000 points or more.

Looking at a few videos, the scoring system appears to be chaining, point-blanking, shooting off boss parts, collecting gold and bees, and using the energy cannon wisely, a fair bit to manage!

Does grazing add points?

It seems a flat 10k for grazing, which adds up if you can find some good spots I guess. I got 18.5m on the first boss from grazing rather than killing him. Is it just me or is there no penalty for timeouting bosses?

Fine, I think that this game is far better than the sand sth.
According to people who played this game, you get 10k or 100k (based on combo number I think) when point blanking
