how to play Splatter house in MAME?

I don't think i've ever needed one to play it...

Maybe your rom is busted? I would just suggest re-downloading it from a different source.

If you've already done this let me know and i'll see if there's some weird namco bios i forgot about.

lol - nothings wrong with that. Splatterhouse is awesome. It scared kids the world over when i was little.

I once made a pool hall stay open for an hour past closing time because i was on the last level and kept pumping quarters into the machine. Hard game, awesome concept.

The Turbo-Grafx/PCE version pales in comparison. Certain grisly touches in the arcade version didn't make the cut when going down to a 4 Meg HuCard. While it plays nearly the same, quite a bit of the atmosphere is lost - especially when the gory bodies (most dead, a few half-dead and writhing) in the first stage have been taken out. The jumping hands don't flip the bird before they attack.

The dual chainsaw boss looks cool, but if you can juggle 2 shotguns until you reach him - he's an easy kill.
