Check out this cool, freeware, "Metroidvania-style" adventure game from Pixel.
Evidently, it's so good that Variant Game Studios got the rights for the PSP;
to release the original game and a re-make.

Well, Cave Story has been just about the most popular doujin game in online English-speaking niche game communities for over a year now so he's got a point... It's a fun game, and short enough that it doesn't start getting repetitive. Still, interesting news about the port.
