Ok, I came up with a few art/level designs for a game that I would like to create. I never used flash but alot of people (other websites) are saying thats the best way to go for first time creators. It's a simple alien shooter (hori) with cartoon art.
Is their a website that teaches will help on how to do this? Also, is their anyone in the Chicago area that would be interested in helping or maybe create a different project shooter/fps?
Actually, there is a semi-decent tutorial on Flashkit somewhere for Hori-type shooters if I recall..good for beginners.
I actually do indeed live in the Chicago area, and have been tinkering around with Flash/BB for some time now, but unfortuately, school and work keeps me occupied a lot of the time. But who knows? Feel free to drop me a line and maybe we can get something going.
I think flash is one of the worst programs for games.
All bigger flash games i played run very slow.
I can recommend Blitzbasic (Blitz3d or Blitzmax) and Gamemaker 6.1!
Flash looks kind easy to use indeed, but it sucks for gaming.
Game Maker is a good solution if you want something simple AND powerful.
You just have to READ THE DOCUMENTATION. As you were thinking about going the Flash way, Game Make may be a good option for you.
