Mushihimesama - What's going on?
Mushihimesama - What's going on?
PS2 Mushihimesama appears to be out of stock everywhere I look online. Does anyone know what's going on? Is it out of print forever? Is this some kind of seasonal shortage? Most importantly, does anyone know if/when places like PlayAsia might get it back again?
Heh, I ran into the same problem... my play-asia order eventually died, export_japon on ebay became unregistered... anyhow, through froogle I found that hypergameaction.com seems to have a few. I've never heard of them before, but they claim to have been around since 1993 and are hosted by Yahoo, so I guess it's safe enough. Waiting for mine to arrive now.
Anyhow, it was probably not an overly large print run. If you want the LE it's easier to find.

EDIT: AARGH, they just emailed me to say it's out of stock and I might have to wait 1-2 weeks. Play-asia said the same thing, then went back and said it wouldn't happen and that my order was cancelled. Bah.

Wellcome to the forum Arznei.
We now got Ageha & Tateha, if Asagi comes, we would have everybody.

VGI have new and used copies of the standard release as well as a single LE copy.
www.videogameimports.com
It's a bit expensive, but they do have them in stock.

With Cave's licensing fees, do you really think that will happen?SAM wrote:As said before, I really suggest you to wait for the Best Version.
There's only been one budget release of a Cave homeport that I'm aware of and that came out in what... 2002 for the PSOne (MW re-release of Donpachi). Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but even the SataKore reprint of DDP was like 5800 Yen, right?
Maybe there will be a budget reprint at some point... but it doesn't really seem like Cave's style (nor do I see it happening anytime soon).
And VGI aren't cheap, SAM... I stated that in my post. The guy looking for the game was asking for sources so I listed one.

Low Res interlance graphic do really look good on a normal CRT TV. The problem is TV which could be held in Tate position can't be too big. That's maens you got 26" at most.sffan wrote:If it's the ONLY port of a great game, it will sell, crappy or not. I personally think the port was okay.Arznei wrote:
Truth is, Mushihimesama was a really crappy port. I can't believe they sold out so fast.
60,000 yen (for a PCB) is still a bit too much for me.... Just cann't believe Sony actually asking that amount for their new console. And you can't even play with it yet, you have to pay more to get a game...

No, that would be Telegames.Turrican wrote:lol, videogameimports - the highest prices on the whole internet. Once I had almost resolved into buy something from them - when teh browser opened a page saying that first time consumers had to pay another pound...
VGI are just like any other on-line gamestore. There are some good deals, some ok deals and some crappy deals. I got a complete Japanese Neo-Geo AES from them (sans box) for under $200 (after shipping and after the exchange rate). They may be a bit on the expensive side, but they certainly have the stock.
Jeez Christ, the prices on their site are extremely high. They're even selling sealed copies of ESPGaluda for 50 GBP w/o VAT, and 60 GBP w/ VAT. 50 GBP is like $90. You're better off with play-asia for they're sell it for $70 new.SAM wrote:50 British Pounds for a Sealed PS2 Mushime Sama ?!?!Kiken wrote:VGI have new and used copies of the standard release as well as a single LE copy.

As for Mushihime Sama I'm glad I just bought a mint copy for 33 GBP from Geezer yesterday. I hope it comes soon my college semester is alomost over, and I get bored easily.

You could always got one cheaper than that at evil bay, real crazy.rolins wrote:Jeez Christ, the prices on their site are extremely high. I think $60 to 70 is the average going price for the moment.rolins wrote:As for Mushihime Sama I'm glad I just bought a mint copy for 33 GBP from Geezer yesterday. I hope it comes soon my college semester is alomost over, and I get bored easily.

Why don't you people check www.toysnjoys.com ? They not only have DoDonPachi: Dai-Ou-Jou and Mushihime-sama for 59$ but even are willing to declare price on the package as you want. I really recommend this shop.
It is enjoyable. I can play Mushihime just fine in yoko or tate without problems, and all of the problems don't really stop you from enjoying the game, but they're still there.sffan wrote:If it's the ONLY port of a great game, it will sell, crappy or not. I personally think the port was okay.
If you're fine with the sound starting over when pause and unpause the game, or gallery mode being in yoko mode when you're in tate, or the final boss appearing in stage 5 practice mode, or the scoring in maniac/ultra being broken, it's a perfectly okay port.
Taito ported it.. I think that tells you something.

What I am thinking is...elvis wrote:How come there's such a huge discrepency between Arika/Cave titles and Taito/Cave titles then?benj wrote:As far as I know Cave ported it themselves. Taito was merely the publisher.Arznei wrote:Taito ported it.. I think that tells you something.
Intentionally:
(1) It takes less works that way.
(2) Give reason to play the game in the acrade.
Unintentionally:
(3) Scraw us, so that we have to bought a PCBs anew or second handed.
The bare second hand Mushihime Sama board costs 60,000 yen, while DDP:DOJ and ESPgaluda cost only 35,000 yen.
Ibara 32,000 yen price should compare with the 8ing price range, not Cave.
What I want to say is due to the crappy port, the 2nd hand price of Mushihime Sama PCBs did a lots better than DDP:DOJ and ESPgaluda.

Because Arika did the former stuff and Cave did the latter. IIRC it was confirmed that Cave ported Mushi and Ibara by someone who translated some webpage or other on another topic...anyone recall which it was?elvis wrote:How come there's such a huge discrepency between Arika/Cave titles and Taito/Cave titles then?
When checking out buyers comment of Toys n joys on ResellerRatings, it's not too reassuring.tiktak wrote:Why don't you people check www.toysnjoys.com ?
