A question about posters and copyright

Post by Guardians Knight »

so i was thinking about getting a couple of those cool shoot em up pictures that were uploaded on the ftp and getting them printed at a printers and framed for my wall. i was then thinking what if i put some on ebay? would i be in violation of copyright, have these ever been commercially available? i was thinking of just trying and knowing evil-bay they would close me down pretty fast if i was doing anything they deemed illegal, but i guess if anyone could tell me for certain then it would save me the trouble.

Thanks

I doubt you'd legally be able to make profit off of that. I had a hell of a time trying to convince the guy down at Custom Screen Printing that the R-Type flyer was my airbrush work. In the end i still got my R-Type shirt... i should post a pic.

I can't even imagine an equivalent experience in the Netherlands, they'll just print anythin you throw at them as it should be. So in the US printing services are liably accountable for infringement right violation when copying copyrighted materials? wow.

As far as selling them on ebay, you can sell anything on ebay you want, the only thing that could happen is if someone reports you to ebay or the buyer is dissatisfied and reports you. Ebay themselves couldn't care less. Why would anyone buy that from ebay anyway, can't they just go and print it out themselves? Or maybe you are the only one with those pictures? then sell those and explain the possibilites........
