Didn't somebody on here come up with an Osaka Den Den Town shopping guide? Or am I just thinking of an Akihabara shopping guide? Speaking of which, in case you haven't seen it, GaijinPunch has an excellent shopping guide to Akihabara at this address: http://www.gamengai.com/akimap.php (unfortunately it's not printable though....)
Undamned and I are heading to Japan next Monday. I've searched the Net and couldn't find anybody who has put up a guide to Osaka/Den Den Town. It's a shame if nobody's done this yet.

Helpful guide:
Phase 1: Buy Neon lots of games.
Phase 2: ?
Phase 3: PROFIT!

Dunno how far away Chofu, Shimonoseki might be from Osaka but it might be worth checking out.

At one point it will be, but it's just one more thing to get around to, ya know.http://www.gamengai.com/akimap.php (unfortunately it's not printable though....)
There's some guys at Assembler that have spent extensive time in Osaka. Ask in the "All Things Japan" forum and you'll be sure to get answers.

There a a few good used game stores pretty close together in Osaka Den Den Town, Super Potatoe, Media Re-cycle and Black Tiger are 3 that spring to mind. Btw, there are no signs etc for Den Den Town, but you'll know you are there when you see a lot of computer/camera/electrical goods stores close together. There is a large Softmap store just as you are coming into Den Den Town, which can be used as a reference point. I forget the name of the tube station closest to Den Den Town, i think its maybe Nipponbashi?
I know Den Den Town quite well, since I used to live in Himeji, and Osaka is much closer than Tokyo from there. Unfortunately, I will not be able to accompany Undamned on his journey to Kyoto and Osaka since I'll be staying behind to spend time with my in-laws. We will have several days in Tokyo next week, though.
