In 2001, Sega offered it's Millenium edition DC controllers
In 2000 and into 2001, Sega offered it's Millenium edition "colored" DC controllers that came in several different color schemes. That even included some Millenium edition "colored" VMUs as well. I have a crystal blue and crystal gray colored VMUs that are semi-transparent for that cool see-through effect. Sega did offer some of it's DC stock controllers in the Millenium edition colors for the USA market in 2001 (towards the end of it's USA DC market). If you missed them, then check them out on eBay...they shouldn't be that expensive to get.

I bought a new clear blue pad off ebay last year but it feels really shitty, wobbly dpad, very loose analog stick and different triggers to the usual pads. Plus it seems to have a totally different PCB to my blue Millenium pad. Is this some sort of fake knock off pad or did Sega just throw out a few on the cheap?

Wow. I thought I had a defective one. I had the same wobbly analog stick problem. It was so bad that if you tilted the controller level it would register. I tossed it in the trash about a year ago (it was also blue).theevilfunkster wrote:I bought a new clear blue pad off ebay last year but it feels really shitty, wobbly dpad, very loose analog stick and different triggers to the usual pads. Re: In 2001, Sega offered it's Millenium edition DC controll
I've seen some with "Millennium 2000" marked on the controller, and some without. Were the marked ones released in the States? Or were marked ones and un-marked ones released simultaneously? (I completely missed out on the DC when it was in storesPC Engine Fan X! wrote:In 2000 and into 2001, Sega offered it's Millenium edition "colored" DC controllers that came in several different color schemes. Oh, and for the original poster, I found a leopard print Pointcast controller and a limited-run SGGG VMU on auction. Both from Japan, so the shipping will be high, though. This clear black Millennium controller didn't have an adequate description in the auction, so it's being sold for cheap. It has the "Millennium 2000" marking on it.

Re: In 2001, Sega offered it's Millenium edition DC controll
Sega of America released it's Millennium 2000 DC controllers in the USA in the original white DC stock controller boxes but with a special sticker stating what color it was. Of course, there were 3rd-party knock-offs of the DC stock controller being sold in clear see-through colored schemes but not built as solidly as the official 1st part Sega DC stock 'colored" controllers.extrarice wrote:I've seen some with "Millennium 2000" marked on the controller, and some without. I have a white official (I believe) Sega pad, and the analog stick doesn't wobble, but the thumb grip itself can rotate about, say, 2-5 degrees, making it tough to walk in a straight line. I've dismantled the controller and looked to see if there was any obvious way to repair it, or see if something was broken off, but I didn't see anything. Since this is the only DC controller I have, is the rotation normal? If not, any suggestions of how to fix it?GoPodular.com wrote:Wow. I thought I had a defective one.
