Saturn Souki - Tate Mode?

Post by Halloween Jack »

Decided to give the Saturn an Easter airing, and having had my fill of Garegga and Layer Section, chose to spin Souki.

I've never got in to this game - I think partly because of the heavy Japanese, and partly because I could never find a tate mode. So having gone through all the available text (at least I think I did!), I'm still no better off.

Given up for the evening now, but if anyone could advise whether this option exists, I'd be really grateful.

All the best,

Halloween Jack

Saturn Soukyugurentai doesn't have Tate, because the arcade version is made for Yoko.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Oh okay, thanks for the info gameoverdude. I'll plug on, safe in the knowledge that I'm playing the game as it was intended!

Cheers

I'll never understand why this format (vertical gameplay on standard tv orientation) didn't get more and more popular, even in the arcades I mean.

Surely all the developers are smart enough to understand how much this would simplify their lives when it comes to do an home port.
The vertical screen's advantages are evident, the better use of space and the safer distance between you and the source of evil (the top border)... Still, it startles me that RSG (just to name one) example wasn't followed by many, many more.

Simply because arcades have always been the primary market for shooters, I imagine. Most of the 'vertizontal' type games you see are those that were on multi-cart type arcade hardware (Souky, Aero Fighters 2/3, Mars Matrix, etc.).
