Parodius - Saturn or Psone

Hi, first post here - sorry to use it to ask a question

Right... I have an chance to buy all 4 Psone Parodius games (including Paro Wars

) - is there anything that makes them worse (or better) than their Saturn counterparts? (apart from the option to stretch the screen in the Saturn Deluxe Pack)

the bonus modes on Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius are different between the two platforms. other than that, they are the same.

PS1 extra - "accident" stage(s?), where you have polygonal enemies.

saturn extra - "enemy arrange" stages. enemy formations are rearranged.

i've only played the super famicom version though, so i can't elaborate further.

Thanks for that, just one last question if you don't mind before I buy - would you say about 13,000 yen (about $110) is a good price for all four?

There's not a lot between the Saturn and PSone versions to be honest.

Goku Deluxe Pack - PS has an hidden alternative stage for Da, but Goku runs a bit choppier than on the Saturn.

Oshaberi - As the Cap'n said, different exclusive modes, but neither are a deal maker (I play with them both switched off most of the time). Other than that, almost identical.

Sexy - damn near identical.

~63 quid for them all sounds pretty good, depending on what release version you're getting for the Goku pack (got re-released twice) and Wars. The PS versions of Oshaberi and Sexy seem to be harder to find than the Saturn ones, and usually pricier.

In case you wanted to know they're all the original releases (with spines

) and in one deal - I've decided to go for it

Oh yea elbarto is very good in Parodius games...too bad I couldn't find time to try to beat his scores.

But I'm better in Gradius games, so I think its a tie.

Yes, MSZ is one of quite a few players here better at Gradius games than I am.. probably better at the Paro games too, so I'm thankful they haven't put in the time and effort for those

elbarto : i saw on featheredwings.net a video from you about an extra stage for Parodius SFC, do you always have it ?

I am searching for all media files about gradius-like series, if anyone has this, i am interested

I just tried to get into alternate stage 2 in Parodius Da! on PSX, this level is wonderful but the boss needs a good timing.

I've still got the video file I made, but I don't have the torrent file any more. Not that it matters, as Featheredwings appears to be down at the moment.

As soon as the tracker comes back up, I'll re-upload it.

I don't know if this is an option your willing to consider, but there are free web hosting sites like sendspace, megaupload, or any of the other ones. I'm sure any of these sites would be more then adequate for the whole board to use.

i would appreciate it too, as i can't use the torrent tracker, or bitTorrent for that matter (college public computers).

Another solution : upload your video on super-play site, it should not be a huge overload and everybody will be able to get it.

Possibly the best idea yet, and I can't believe I hadn't thought of that earlier (despite the fact that they aren't "super" plays).

I'll try to get them up over the weekend, assuming my time isn't completely taken up by the London shmup-meet
