Gundemonium and general display problems.

I'm having a rather weird problem. Gundemonium gives me the generic windows error when I try to run it. However, when I connect an external monitor and use dual screens, the game runs perfectly. I'm running on a Dell Latitude D510, but have been unsuccessful with updating the dell drivers. Any thoughts?
