Yes, it's Limited Run. You know you still want Progear physical.

Tempting, but I am not giving any limited print company my money anymore. I will just stick with digital or hope for a retail release somewhere in the world.

Eshop purchase works great, having to insert a (more expensive) physical cart to play is a huge pain in the ass. Hard pass.

Videogamesplus from Canada sells lots of LRG games. I also generally don't preorder anymore. But I never had problems with the standard editions I preordered in the past from LRG.Creamy Goodness wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 9:31 pm Tempting, but I am not giving any limited print company my money anymore. Nice. Physical Gigawing too. I have that on DC but nice to have it for another console.
LR have failed to deliver to me in N.Ireland though - stuff just disappears during transit and I've given up on them so if I do get this I'll probably end up getting via a scalper.

Honestly, I mostly just wait and buy LRG games off ebay once they land. I pay a bit of a markup, but at least I don't have some pre-order floating for 14+ months.davyK wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 5:07 pm Nice. Physical Gigawing too. I have that on DC but nice to have it for another console.

Physical Progear is neat, but it's bare bones and very, very late to the party. Did Capcom ever fix the incorrect default difficulty settings on Progear?
It's not like this is one of the pimped out 360 ports with extra modes and options galore. Honestly this doesn't trigger any FOMO in me at all.

Some of those alternate cover versions are really awesome. Some classic arcade posters with excellent composition. The Final Fight one especially is of course amazing, but Strider is awesome as well.
Wish they'd just included all of them in a purchase. I really like the default art as well

This is EXACTLY the best argument for Limited Run's model of having an open pre-order period before they print the game. They can obviously get low print runs on Xbox discs, so this is great for the small group of people who would want to buy this as a physical Xbox release. I can't imagine any sane publisher would just produce a bunch of Xbox physical versions of this and then hope to sell them, so there would never be a traditional retail release at this point. But if they have 300 people who pre-pay, and then LRG can do a print run of that size (plus whatever modest additional amount they do to cover defects/returns), that's great. This is actually a pretty good example of LRG functioning in a way that maximizes their value to the gaming community,TransatlanticFoe wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 6:49 pmHow much of a market for this is there that they're doing an xbone version

Re: Capcom Arcade Stadium PHYSICAL
The inaccurate knee-jerk "might be with you by 2028" comments and general unspecified LRG hate are pretty unhelpful.
Some of the limited print publishers are awful at actually shipping games, to the point of being (or verging on being) straight up scams. Those companies should rightly be called out for it. In that category, I would include Strictly Limited, First Press Games, Dispatch games (seemingly defunct).
Limited Run has had their issues, but they also have a very long track record of delivering final products. And since at least 2024 (after they made some big changes to their fulfillment processes), they really are quite a bit faster than in years past when it wasn't that uncommon for releases to show up a year+ after orders closed. Typically it takes around 4-6 months now, and from my purchases from them in the past couple years that seems pretty consistent. I am completely confident that if I pay for the standard Capcom Arcade Stadium Switch release as I intend to, I will have it in hand this year - probably before summer.
Caveats:
(1) This applies mainly to the STANDARD editions of games, if you're ordering some deluxe collector's edition with extra stuff, that extra stuff often does introduce further delays.
(2) May also depend on your country, as high shipping costs and unreliable delivery in some places are a real thing. But if you're in the US/Canada? LRG is reliable.

Do we not count the Capcom Home Arcade as a console? I bought one JUST for Progear. It had 1944 on it as well.hamfighterx wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 7:46 pmThis is EXACTLY the best argument for Limited Run's model of having an open pre-order period before they print the game. Re: Capcom Arcade Stadium PHYSICAL
Probably not? To me it's sort of a different thing when we're only talking about built-in games on a plug-and-play unit or dedicated machine, as opposed to a console that plays removable physical media. But still interesting as other "home" releases of these games! And I did kinda lust after the Capcom Home Arcade for that very reason, just never pulled the trigger lol.
Also relevant in that category:
* Evercade Alpha (Mega Man version) includes Carrier Air Wing as one of its built-in 6 games on the bartop machine.
* Evercade also had an older model Evercade EXP handheld, as well as a newer "Super Pocket" Capcom edition with built in Capcom games, 1944 is on both of those.
* Progear is included on at least three different Arcade1up machines (Capcom Legacy Shinku Hadoken Edition, Yoga Flame Edition, and Street Fighter II CE Deluxe). 1944 is also on 3 different Arcade1ups (Street Fighter Deluxe 12-in-1 Cocktail, Capcom Legacy SF Edition, Final Fight)
Evercade never did Capcom cartridges for their systems though, Capcom has only appeared via built-in onboard games.

Same experience for me.hamfighterx wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 8:11 pm Limited Run has had their issues, but they also have a very long track record of delivering final products. Despite all the issues in the past, the last few orders I've placed with LRG have been in my hand around half a year after the preorders closed.
Outside of Embracer just overall being a big evil, and their customer service being straight up immoral, this is my primary issue with Limited Run Games.(2) May also depend on your country, as high shipping costs and unreliable delivery in some places are a real thing. But if you're in the US/Canada? LRG is reliable.
Most of the time, a game snatched by LRG means the release will only be available to order from them, with their horrible shipping rates and forced customs fees, which means any games that get published by LRG is bound to always be a really expensive affair, unfortunately.
Some times their releases do get a European publisher as well, which often means much cheaper retail prices and much better wide distribution that are super easy to pick up in the future. But LRG seem to be able to ensure some sort of exclusivity long enough that I've never been able to get any information about that before it's too late to order from LRG. So it's always a gamble with them, which I really don't like.

I just wish these big publishers like Capcom and Sega, who clearly can do this themselves, would just do that. I'm kind of over LRG and paying months in advance for something. Just let me buy it on Amazon or at Best Buy.

Re: Capcom Arcade Stadium PHYSICAL
They don't, though.
Capcom has skipped several physical releases in the past. I've had to import several of the releases that they did make from either North America or Japan.
GNG Resurrection of course is the big one. I would prefer Capcom putting it out themselves, but it's far too late for that now. It's gonna be LRG or nothing.

They don't even give a damn about digital versions either. Skipping Mars Matrix and Dimahoo in Capcom arcade stadium still pisses me to no end.

I don't think Capcom can do much with Dimahoo by themselves, unlike with Progear or the Takumi titles. The IP at the very least seems to be shared with Eighting.

Must be something specific in the contracts, since 1944's Raizing/Capcom.
I haven't played much of it, but isn't Dimahoo essentially a remake of Daisakusen?

In addition to Totally-Not-4:3 Hishouzame, 1941 Counter Attack is obviously the most attractive thing here. Has this ever gotten a non-SuperGrafx physical home release? I have it on SuperGrafx, but I still REALLY want the (Japanese) PCB for this ultra rad game and can never find it.

It was on Capcom Classics Collection 2. IIRC it may have run at 480i only, necessitating the controller trick on the Xbox to launch in 480p.Steven wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 2:22 pm In addition to Totally-Not-4:3 Hishouzame, 1941 Counter Attack is obviously the most attractive thing here. Never heard of that one before... but it wasn't released in Japan WTF? Even if I bought it from overseas I can't play it anyway because of the region lock. You'll need a Darksoft CPS1/CPS1.5 kit here to play the Capcom CPS1-based 1941 Counter Attack game (circa February of 1990 release in the Japanese game centers): https://www.highscoresaves.com/Darksoft ... e0d198380a
Yes, High Score Saves does ship to Japan from the USA -- so no worries in that respective department.

I just can't imagine the games I'd want to play the most (Giga Wing and 19XX basically, lol), feeling that snappy on a switch via FBNeo inside an RE Engine wrapper.
It's a remake in the sense that if you take the general setting of the game but change everything else about it, it can be called a remake.AGermanArtist wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 10:22 am Must be something specific in the contracts, since 1944's Raizing/Capcom.

The digital versions of these are playable on Switch, but likely hovering around 5 frames. Right on the edge. Not amazing, but something you can get used to if it's your only option.EmperorIng wrote: ↑Mon Jan 12, 2026 6:01 pm I just can't imagine the games I'd want to play the most (Giga Wing and 19XX basically, lol), feeling that snappy on a switch via FBNeo inside an RE Engine wrapper.

Also, lol at Dimahoo being a remake. It is clearly a sequel.
