Keeping old scoring & strat posts accessible?

Post by GabrielKey »

Alright lads,

Bit of a niche ask maybe, but has anyone here got a decent way of keeping track of older threads, mainly stuff like scoring breakdowns, boss strats, or deep dives into lesser-known shmups? I’ve come across archived convos here and there, some better organised than others, sites like https://gritt.io/ pop up sometimes, and it got me thinking, once a thread drops off the front page, it’s a pain digging it back up, especially when it’s got genuinely useful info,
Not talking about backing up the whole forum or anything mental, but do any of you use a local archive, tagging system, or maybe there’s a thread here somewhere that curates high-value posts by game,
Would be class to have something that helps newer players (or forgetful older ones like me) find the good stuff without trawling through 80 pages,

Cheers in advance if anyone’s got suggestions

There are some master threads, such as Threads of Excellence in the main forum, assuming it's still maintained. Somewhat primitive, but generally people would reply threads that should be added to the master list, and the maintainer updates -- much like how the Hi Score threads work. So, this might be one of those times where you invoke being the change you want to see in the world.

The problem is, people fall off and forget. For example, this inspired me to go check in on the one Hi Score thread I own here, and realized I hadn't updated it in 3 years. Only had a couple of entries, but still.
