TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVKuQzEgUL4

Releasing on Steam 4/1/25

I've been involved with the beta testing on this one. It's a pretty damn addictive "just one more try" manic STG. Gameplay wise there is zero memorization and barely any time to breath which places it in the realm of +extreme challenge. The game was developed by SUZUKIPLAN and originally built for VGS-Zero.

Features:
- 4 game modes
- original scoring system
- online leaderboards
- downloadable replays

Pricing will be $6.99 USD with a 40% discount for the first week after release.

Digging the presentation, but enemies look a bit tanky. Looks worth a play at the price point though.

The tankiness is not to the point of annoyance IMO but It is still a good point you've raised. Specifically when using primary fire there are a couple enemy types that are definitely far more tanky than others. But yes, in general most enemies here have a higher health pool than a more traditional STG with one or two shot kills.

The secondary weapon, the charge laser, luckily makes quick work of pretty much everything thrown at you. Player score will just not end up being as high when constantly spamming it. It's a bit risk vs reward in design.

Hi, I am the author of Battle AirForce.
Battle AirForce is currently being ported to the Game Boy Advance as well, and will be distributed as a bonus to the Steam version.
After purchasing Battle AirForce, you should be able to find the ROM file by opening “Browse Local Files” in the Battle AirForce Settings (gear icon) in the Steam client.
The ROM file is basically designed to run on emulators such as mGBA, but it can also be played on real consoles by writing it to Flash ROM.

At the time of release on April 1, we plan to attach the unfinished GBA ROM file, and after it is completed, we will distribute the finished ROM by updating it on Steam.
Of course, no add-on purchase is required to obtain the GBA version.

Oh wow! That'd be awesome to play the GBA port of Battle Air Force -- I'm sure it'd play great on the Gamecube with the GBA Player add-on as well.

This looks really slick except in one area: I hate the background art. The long black stripes on all the backgrounds are actually kinda hurting my eyes to look at, which is a shame because all the foreground elements are really well done. I'm not sure if it's meant to desaturate the background for visibility reasons or if it's to add a faux-scanline type of effect but... I don't like it.

Thank you for your nice advice!
Interlacing is used in the background image to distinguish between the ground and the air, but the contrast seemed a little harsh.
Although it may not be a fundamental solution, I will try to adjust the contrast down.

What do you think of the following, in which I have tried to reduce the contrast a little?

Looks cool!

Looking forward to the launch next week.

EDIT: Oh, I missed your previous game (Battle Marine), already available on Steam.
Just bought it. I'll be sure to give it a go this weekend.

Everything else looks really good, and I may be the only one who doesn't like the interlaced look, so I wouldn't go changing it necessarily just because of one person's feedback. Though maybe consider it if you get more, I dunno. I prefer it when darker colors or contrasting color schemes are used more I think, the look here adds too much black to the background everywhere and the lines are too regular for my taste. The version with the contrast change is a bit better, I'm still not sure I'm a fan of it.

The rest of the game art looks fantastic though, and the game itself looks solid. I just prefer the way stuff like the GG Aleste and Halley's Comet GG games did their backgrounds.

Cool, the developer is currently working on a GBA version, and the ROM will be included with the download on Steam (a sound test ROM is already available):

Thankfully, it was picked up by several live-streaming videos and we were able to confirm users' real opinions, but I felt that many people still think interlacing is unpopular, so I changed the default to OFF in the ver1.08 update.

I also felt it was important to be able to change settings in-game, so I implemented that feature as well.
I can hardly listen to English so maybe I am missing something more important XD

The latest patch/update of Battle Air Force has the full-version GBA v1.00 game of BAF for your perusual. Just manually update your Steam port of BAF and you're good to go.

If you have the older Krikzz GBA Everdrive X5 flash cart setup, the GBA BAF runs without a hitch on the original GBA, GBA SP, GBA Micro and DS/DS Lite -- it's just a matter of extracting the GBA BAF rom itself and placing it within the GBA X5's rom directory. Select it and you're up & running. Easy as pie.

As with a GBA Micro setup, games look awesome indeed with it's 2" lcd-based screen running in 240 x 160 resolution.

The developer is working on a GBA version of his previous game, Battle Marine, and like Battle AirForce, he will add the ROM, for free, to the Steam download:

Here is the announcement:

And a link to the store page:
