Strikers 1945 Plus

Post by TWITCHDOCTOR »

This will be the Strikers Plus High Score thread.
In order to particapate you must either play the MVS through a Neo-Geo/SuperGun or Kawa-X emulation. MAME is ok too, just not prefered on XBOX.
Make sure you have the settings set to arcade MVS(4) difficulty, and lives at 3, extended play at 600,000 This is default by Japan's standards. However, if you want to be a "HOTSHOT" and play with USA default of 2 lives, go right ahead.

Player Name/Score/Stage/plane used/system-region

Top Ten Ace Strikers:

1.IiMRM............................. 1,400,000 2-3 Pancake Neo Geo US
2.RealBout c.f.................... 986,100 - 1-8 - Pancake - Neo Geo MVS
3.SupaT.............................. 985,500 1-8 Pancake Neo Geo Cab
4.Landshark........................ 747,300 1-7 Pancake MAME
5.TWITCHDOCTOR.............. 679,700 1-7 Pancake Kawa-X(XBOX)JPN
6.Anarchos......................... 395,600 1-4 BA2 MAME
7.
8.
9.

I don't remember my exact score before my school took away the game, but it was 1.4??,???. So I'll post the score as 1.4 million.

IlMrm - 1,400,000 - 2-3 - F5U Pancake - Neo Geo/SuperGun MVS

Two lives starting, with extend at 600,000.

I had a Spitfire score of 1.3 million-ish also at 2-3. But the Pancake is definitely the plane to use for score.

I checked my Mame settings, it's been Level-4 as long as I've had it.

Sorry TWITCH, instead of a 1 it is a small case L.

Here is my faq on this game on Gamefaqs. http://www.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/game/580520.html

It's plenty wordy please bear with it. And of course it is no comparison to an actual replay(which I still don't have).

And regarding the 10 bombs in first loop thing, I believe there is a simple arithmetic error in there somewhere. :oops[/url]

How I hate those two 1-7 mid-bosses. They are so much more difficult than the Strikers 1945 2 mid-bosses. The 1-7 boss is much easier than the mid-bosses.

With my MVS cart, when I switch the region to Japan on my 2-slot the default lives remain at 2 which contradicts the notion that the JP version gives you an extra life. So I had to increase the life count using the dips.

Sweet goodness! That is impressive, considering it's level five difficulty, and the second loop is really, really hard.

By the way, does you handle have any relations to Victoly?

Super score!

Victoly is my buddy and I've seen him do it; it's sick! Our old college puts all the games they have on harder difficulties to suck quarters out of the students  . That Victoly site is not the same guy.

getting through the first loop is a cakewalk, usually playing it safely, i can make it to 2-1 with 3 lives and 5 bombs. if you guys want any strats on certain parts of the game, i can tell you in detail.

My school realized they weren't making money off me and my friend(we were the only two that played it), so they replaced Plus with a fighting game. I've found a couple of machines since then, but they are on an easier difficulty.

The first round is always a bomb fest for me. I always go into 2-1 with no bombs and three lives.

I've credit fed through the second loop before, just to see the patterns. Some of those patterns are crazy. Much respect to you. :)

I had tried my best, but the fire/bomb button of the cab in the acrade don't seems to be working. And you can't kill enemy planes by Raming into them in this game.

It's those damned things that make a no-shoot run so damned hard.

I've been trying to no-shoot my way through Strikers 1999. The best I've done is midway through level 1-4. Usually I get to 1-3. And 95% of the time I lose my ships via the boss suicide.

RFP - 356 300 - F5U(Pancake) - 4 - NeoGeo(3 Lives)

There are records on the local machine that go up as far as 2-2 by the initials FLX.
I'll be lucky to crack top 10.
