Powerstone collection for PSP
Both games included, Wireless multiplayer, new weapons, new characters and extra modes.
Could this be the news that makes me finally get a PSP? Well, er, no. But still, Sweet.

Wireless multiplayer sounds awesome. Not sure how playable Powerstone 2 will be though, I have a hard enough time keeping track of the characters on a 29" screen.
Maybe on the PSP version you'll be able to keep the focus on your character instead of having the whole screen zoom out as much.

We here shall not rest until we have made a drawing-room of your shaft, and if you do not all finally go down to your doom in patent-leather shoes, then you shall not go at all.
LOL, I knew when I clicked the thread you'd be weeping about it. One of your favourite DC games gets a better port to another console...and you're unhappy? Pfft.Kron wrote:Can't imagine either of them will be much fun on a screen that small.
GBA's screen is much smaller...yet I manage to have fun playing that console.
Yeah with its huge influx of direct arcade points that have 4 player on screen action in an environment that relies on scale right?Neon wrote: GBA's screen is much smaller...yet I manage to have fun playing that console.

Its hectic enough playing the game on a 29" arcade monitor let alone the PSP screen. I couldn't care less if they port the games elsewhere but atleast put them on a format where it would be suited and do the series some justice.
I'd rather they made a new game in the series (Powerstone 3 on Live would be good) than make a badly aimed port.
And why are you such a clueless ass so keen to continue in worthless dictation of what you think people like and only like. You make this place feel like some sort of Gamefaqs fan site.

He, and he alone, can predict that it's a better port.

No analogue stick and the small screen are features that can REALLY harm this game.
Oh, and am I the only one who hates PS2 and thinks they should have left out all the platfroming?

I tend to sort of view the two as almost completely different games, hardly in the same series, even...the first is closer to a "traditional fighting" game, in that the areas are closer in, you've got more attack options, and fewer items to mess with. The sequel heads more into "Smash Bros." territory, in a sense, since the areas are larger and there are tons more items and whatnot to use, not to mention you've got 4-player this time. I guess it sort of depends on which style you like best.Super Laydock wrote:Oh, and am I the only one who hates PS2 and thinks they should have left out all the platfroming?
As for this new compilation, I don't have a PSP and have no plans to get one, so it doesn't much concern me directly, heh heh. I do have to say that I wasn't expecting to ever see Power Stone again though.

I don't think anyone would disagree.I'd rather they made a new game in the series (Powerstone 3 on Live would be good) than make a badly aimed port.
Poor persecuted you. If you didn't have such an obvious DC bias people might take you seriously when you said such things. And why are you such a clueless ass so keen to continue in worthless dictation of what you think people like and only like. Ooh sorry, I wasn't aware that "more content" is the same as "better port"...Neon wrote:Our visionary member Neon responds! Confused

A good point. More content usually denotes the inferior port, actually.Super Laydock wrote:Ooh sorry, I wasn't aware that "more content" is the same as "better port"...Neon wrote:Our visionary member Neon responds! Confused

You can still count on a backlash from the DC fanboy community now that it's not exclusive anymore. Damn that Capcom for wanting to make money and bring their games to a wider audience! We can leave that shit at gamefaqs, thanks.

Eh - don't think there's gonna be that big a stink over it... after all, you still have to play it on that tiny screen.Neon wrote:You can still count on a backlash from the DC fanboy community now that it's not exclusive anymore. DC still has the exclusive console port.
You're arguing for a universe with fewer waffles in it. I'm prepared to call that cowardice.
Had Capcom released PS Collection for the DS instead of the PSP,the very same people dissing it would be all over it.Neon wrote:LOL, I knew when I clicked the thread you'd be weeping about it. To be honest I'd be dissing it regardless (though I'd actually buy it on the DS since I have one once it dropped in price). I think it's lame that the console Classics Collection didn't get Strider and Varth.BIG wrote:Had Capcom released PS Collection for the DS instead of the PSP,the very same people dissing it would be all over it.Neon wrote:LOL, I knew when I clicked the thread you'd be weeping about it. What I'm hat0ad1nG on is that it has games that were likely going to be on the console Classics Collection anyway until they decided they wanted people to buy a PSP (or DS hypothetically) game. Hence why I would get it once it's cheap/used, since obviously I love the games on it.
The same thing happened with the Mega Man X releases that are coming on the PSP now. A TON of the extras on them were made specifically for and implemented in the PS2/GC Mega Man X collection, but then removed at the last second to be put in the PSP re-releases.

Yeah,it sucks having to buy pretty much the same thing more than once.Neo Rasa wrote:

I just think its funny that Capcom can no longer make original games. Resident Evil remake on DS? Mega Man/MMX remakes on the PSP? Ports of Street Fighter <insert random numbers here) on every console every generation?
They've almost become as worthless as Sega. The only difference is Sega still tries to make something new, it just sucks most of the time.
Though I guess it is smarter to only do remakes and ports on the PSP... can't be wasting money on new material when it won't sell.

Erm, if they'd make the effort to produce original material on the PSP, then it probably actually WOULD sell. Their lack in effort doesn't deserve to sell though.
You probably ARE right there, but wouldn't you rather have original content on your favourite platform than "perfect" ports of games available somewhere else (though not on the go...).BIG wrote: Yeah, because SFA3,Gokumakaimura,and Capcom Collection would look and play like ass on the DS.

I'd have expected that backlash if the game would have been ported to PS2 for it's launch. Now, I can't imagine any DC fanboy giving a rat's ass since PSP is a totally different medium (handheld).Neon wrote:You can still count on a backlash from the DC fanboy community now that it's not exclusive anymore. Also in the long run more and more exclusives for whatever platform are going to end up on other platforms in other generations.
2010 will possibly see a Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft handheld with tate options and Radiant Silvergun for launch....

Man, are you kidding? Lose the Naomi avatar, the Dreamcast Scene forum registration and your holier than thou and DC>PS2 LOL attitudes and I'll not assume you actually enjoy console wars.Kron wrote:Cliche view #2BIG wrote: Had Capcom released PS Collection for the DS instead of the PSP,the very same people dissing it would be all over it.

Why is it always "system wars" with you guys? I really swear this site is Gamefaqs lite now. What a shame.
I mean, forgive me if I'm wrong...I've seen you say in the past that it's ok to 'try before you buy' with PS2 but not DC, that PS2 is all quantity and no quality, that naomi ports suck on ps2, etc. etc. If you've since admitted you're wrong about such things I'm willing to forgive and forget, but I'm still going to make fun of you when you bash games for console-brand-name reasons, because that type of thinking really doesn't belong here.
If someone clicks the thread and you're stating 'it's going to suck on that screen' when PSP has the biggest screen of any handheld and it's a port of a DC game without explaining yourself, pretty much everyone's going to assume 'wow, fanboy.' You could have explained from the start it relies on a larger screen. Though now that they've added the camera system, it seems that problem will be solved.
Honestly,I'd settle for a port of a ten year-old game that kicks ass over an entirely new and original stinker anyday of the week.Super Laydock wrote: You probably ARE right there, but wouldn't you rather have original content on your favourite platform than "perfect" ports of games available somewhere else (though not on the go...).![]()

That's just a waste of money if you buy it to just play games you already have and love, or have not and can purchase cheaper than the new port.
Oh, and dissing games that haven't come out yet totally diminishes the credibility of your argument!
