ShmupArch 7

Post by DJIce »

Is this emulator as good as it gets for fbneo shmups?(with an updated fbneo core)?

I want to play Cave games on PC that aren't on Steam but as accurately as I can without owning the actual PCB.

Also mmpork runs fine on my regular retroarch but on ShmupArch 7 is seems to run slow, I tried to mimic SA7 settings to RA, gl, runahead 1 etc but still can't get it to run normal on SA7

I can't speak about absolute accuracy. Emulation accuracy is a rabbit hole.

You seem to be concerned about latency. For minimum lag and high quality output, you want GroovyMame paired with GroovyMister and an OSSC Pro or RetroTink4k to upscale.

ShmupArch is just an outdated Windows-only repack of RetroArch with MarkMSX's settings dialed in by default. It works and is quick to setup, but is not the right way to distribute what amounts to a few .ini files representing configs that can be done in the GUI.

For the best RA experience, get actual RetroArch, keep it up to date, and enter latency settings manually where necessary. Don't rely on a YouTuber to maintain software.
