PS1 "Super Buster Bros." questions...

Post by dave4shmups »

Ok, this collection is supposed to have every game in the Pang Series included-does it? Because on the Super Play site, Ben Shinobi has Super Plays up of both Pang and SNES Super Pang-and I know he owns Sony hardware (his R-Type Delta, Gradius V, etc. Super Plays).

Are there just extra modes of gameplay missing from the PS1 Super Buster Bros. compilation?

Includes original BB, SBB, and the one and only balloon popping game starring a cast of digitized Mexicans, Buster Buddies. So yes, ever arcade BB is on there.
SBB on the SNES is different from the arcade original, which is on the PS1 collection.

Just go ahead and buy it, it's not rare and goes for $10 complete. Still one of my favorites for the PS1, worth it alone for the original BB.
I think I even made a thread about the collection here over a year ago, but that coulda been at the old forum.

Oh my love for the Buster Bros. runs deep.

Ok, thanks! Sounds like the collection, and SNES SBB are both worth picking up!

Nope. It's missing Mighty! Pang (which wasn't released yet, I think).

How different is the SNES version?

I used to play Pang a lot in Amiga version, then Super Pang on Arcade then Pang 3 on Mame ... then I got the SBB collection...

I remember seeing the SNES version and didn't notice any big differences to the arcade version.

Yeah, Mighty! Pang isn't included, as it came out a couple of years after the collection did (and sadly didn't get a home port at all).

Isn't the SNES version missing the two player mode? I seem to remember it being slower than the arcade game too, but that might be my memory failing me.

I haven't played any BB in months, but from what I remember, SBB is jut missing a chunk of levels; perhaps missing some certain music tracks, too? Because of that, it's shorter. Still, a pretty stellar game. Also pretty hard to find (in the wild, at least), moreso than BB Collection.

Right, forgot about Mighty! Pang. Never played it myself.
