I got VSC700 two days ago.
I set up like below.
HDMI(switch) - vga converter- vga gender changer - vga to RGBS with 4 lines (not RGBHV 5lines) - extron vsc 700 - component ouput to my sony PVM
480p input works well on my PVM14m2 from switch(manual setting) or alalogue pocket dock. But 1080p doesn't work from switch(tv resolution setting) or Chromecast. Is there any problem with 4BNC(I use RGBS not RGBHV) cable? my vsc says out of range or display just unrecognizable pattern on my PVM. I tried 4 kinds of hdmi vga conveters, but it didnt work for any vga converter. So I have a suspicion on cable or vsc itself. Do you have any idea or experience? Might be a problem with old VSC?

Re: VSC 700 issue with higher than 480p
A friend had a similar issue with the VSC 500 I gave him. It came down to the HDMI -> VGA converter, believe it or not. I had two Tendak-branded converters, one worked and one didn't.

+1 on the DAC suggestion.
I don't recall issues feeding 1080p to the scan converter. Unfortunately, good DAC units are difficult to find.
Hopefully, the OSSC Pro will replace downscalers and DAC units forever.

Thx for recommend. I found that OSSC Pro doesn`t work on input with HDCP. I want to watch some movies or Netfilx via chromecast. Is it possible?
Re: VSC 700 issue with higher than 480p
I think the 4k HDMI switch thread had some recommendations for stripping HDCP. Some generic Chinese HDMI splitters used to do it.

Switch (and PS3 and PS4) require a HDMI to VGA that uses external power. They output a HDMI signal that doesn't carry 5V. At least for PS4 + powered DACs, you can leave HDCP on or off and it shouldn't matter either way on most anything.
