Has anyone been here? Know here? Video games or arcades in the mix? (I didn't do any homoework before I came over).

I've never been there, but...

I've seen things. I've seen them with my eyes. I've seen things, they're often in disguise, like: Carrots, handbags....

Well there's not much I can think of I'm afraid. I stayed at the Holiday Villa for two weeks but didn't get to far from the Hotel for various reasons.

If you can grab a domestic flight to on of the heavenly islands near the coast, rent a fast bike and cruise around the island a bit. Just don't forget they drive on the left ( I did ocassionally and learned some malayan words that way ). Or cross the border and go to Thailand, I always thought that was a much friendlier place with better food anyway

I lived in Kuala Lumpur for a year ....back in 1980!
I'll never forget those arcades though. Can anyone here even imagine - one room filled with dozens of the same game. Care to take a guess a which game?...
But of course, Space Invaders! I clearly remember one shopping plaza that had an Arcade on the rooftop (indoors). There were rows of Space Invaders cabs lining both walls and a double row of cabs up the middle of the floor. More cigarette smoke than the average American will smell in their entire lives, and dozens of sweaty South East Asians drinking iced tea out of plastic bags waiting for their turn at one of the cabs.
my brother and I lived for the occasional chance that we'd be able to play a round. While visiting Cameron Highlands (sp?) we first learned of the "destroy own shields" tactic while watching a British kid blaze though the first couple waves of invaders. Hot stuff!
But that hardly helps with the request for Malaysian information.
I also remember when the only other white people that lived in our neighborhood invited us for dinner. Shortly after eating it became apparent they were really just trying to recruit us for their cult. My parents made a rude departure with kids in tow and later in life while living in SLC myself I came to realize how brainwashed those white-bred Mormons really are. And thank heavens my parents removed us from their covert indoctrination all those years ago.
So that's my Malaysian experience. ..oh and Penang, and Batu Caves were really nice. You should check out one of the religious ceremonies out at Batu Caves where young kids and adults and a whole mess of people eat strange roots and trip their balls off and stick spears through their cheeks and hike up the stairs into the caves and all kins of wild stuff.
It freakin blew my mind! - oh, and destroy your own shields!

I live in Malaysia. Though not in KL though. I'm in Malacca.

You could always ask around for arcades in KL, or just ask for locations of those expensive-looking shopping malls (like The Curve) and check out the highest level of the building for the arcades. Don't know if it's the same overseas, but over here, arcades are ALWAYS located on the highest level of a shopping mall.
