BARCO ADVM14 2001 - SDI version?

Hey all, I recently acquired a barco ADVM14 monitor, made in 2001.
As you might know, the barcos have no RGB inputs, only: composite, s-video and SDI.
I want to run my steam deck to the barco in a resolution that is not interlaced, but from what I have found out 480P is not possible through s-video or composite, only 240p and 480i. Which is sad.
The monitor does have SDI inputs and another user on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/crtgaming/comm ... multisync/ found a brochure that might imply that the ADVM14 might indeed support 480p or 720p somehow.
I was hoping that this would be possible through the SDI. Does anyone have this monitor from this year and know whether this is true? In that case, I could buy an HDMI to SDI adapter andrun it through as 480P or 720P.

Here are some pictures of the internals of the monitor, if anyone is interested or can tell me something about it.
Would you perhaps know what this failed sticker is about? My guess is that it was DOA'd and then returned to barco then was likely fixed.

Also, I have read the blog post here https://immerhax.com/?p=871 showing an RGB modding process for a barco ADVM, but this looks very complicated for me (Never done anything like this before). If there is an alternative easier way, please let me know.

I have never modded a CRT before. What I might look into first is finding a way to convert the signal externally? Blackmagic makes a number of HDMI-SDI converters. The challenge would be finding one which supports 480p output; they seem to focus on 1080p and up these days. Another problem is they seem to focus on digital HDMI input. I don't know of a good way to convert analog 480p to SDI.

I currently have a shitty hdmi to s-video converter that I bought on amazon. I don't even know if it's actually s-video or if it's composite pretending to be s-video. (It seems to have an output for both).
The image is ok.. but it's lacking.
I saw the black magic converters and that's why I am trying to find out what SDI protocol the barco adv14 from 2001 supports. If it's at least 480p, that's great! (ED-SDI) that would mean I can run an output from my steam deck to the ADVM through this converter. However, I don't know what kind of SDI the barco has.

Indeed, documentation is impossible to find, that's why I''ve taken to forums to find if anyone else has tried already.
I am tempted to just buy one of those microconverters from HDMI to SDI, even if it's 480i then its probably going to be better than the hdmi to s-video that I bought. In hindsight, I should have went for that to begin with but I wasn't deep enough in the rabbithole of crt monitors to understand certain stuff.

It's not going to work. You'll need something that can output 480i via HDMI and then convert that to SDI. This monitor and other ADVM monitors are SD only, they are not multiformat.

Are you sure it's not HD-SDI?
In that case I guess my only options for getting progressive signal is to get a graphics card with CRTemudriver compatibility and output 240p via s-video or RGB mod it, which from what I saw is really not trivial. If someone has an easier method for RGB modding please let me know.

^ skum also implies here that it shouldn’t be too hard to be able to get it to accept component, if you want to ask him about that. For 480i you can just find a converter for the SDI input, but for the nicest 240p possible you could try one of the two things I linked. Or just settle for S-Video, which I’m sure looks great already
