Gussun Oyoyo S for SS

Post by Neon »

Anyone have any information on this game? I don't know anything about it at this point other than it's a puzzle game developed by the geniuses behind Umihara Kawase Shun (PSX).

About to try the Super Fami equivalents, though it seems Irem devved those...

Also, is it in MAME under a different name?

I have it.

It's a bit like a mix between Tetris and Lemings.

The goal is always to create some kind of stairway or bridge out of the falling blocks so that Gussun (the little munchkin guy) can reach the exit, before the room fills with water and he drowns. Of course there's all kinds of enemies, traps, etc to mix things up.

It's not bad, but actually I don't really like it that much, as too much is up to chance (Gussun's AI sucks!) IMO. I prefer puzzle games that are more systematic, like Puyo, Magical Drop, etc

I know Gaijin Punch is really into the Gussun games though and I think he has them all, so you should probably ask him. :)

Gussun Paradise for PS1 is the one. I don't like Gussun Oyoyo at all.

Paradise is more of a proper SSP. It is a bit different than your standard Don Doko Don/Zupapa type gig, but still pretty basic. Oyoyo S you have to build steps and shit for that stupid little fuck who is slow. That ain't my bag.

This thread reminds me what a drag it is to have lost the old TFP2  These games and many others were well documented.
