Check out this offer... or not, as the site is in portuguese, but let me tell you what it is about. This store is selling Freestyle Metal X for the PS2 - a mediocre motocross game - for R$ 969.90, which, in dollars, is...

U$ 438.51

Just to compare, that same store sells the PS2 for R$ 799.90 = U$ 361.65

Hmmm... I could name about six bargain bins around here you could find this one in. I'd say that price is a little high.

Two or three friends together to build up the price in search of the chicken who thinks it's rare or whatnot... blæh.

I've seen HRESLVEGR, that obscene wipeout-wannabe racing game, sold at 189 euros. It isn't worth one tenth of the price so... go figure.

Ugh - I remember that one. One of those games early importers had for their PS2 because it's all there was. It was absolute shit.

The thing is that's not an auction site.

That's a brazilian store, which also offers an online service. That's the price they are selling a new copy of the game.

I've said this a few times here, the price of PS2 games here is ABSURD. Now, I had never seem something SO absurd as this.

It looks more like a joke. R$ 969 is nearly the whole income of my house in a month.

And the PS2 for R$ 799,00 is cheap. I usually find it around R$ 999,00 ....

That's through the white market, right? What about the gray one? (It's pretty much like that in Mexico too. I had to get my PS1 for about 170 dollars there, after it dropped to 150 in the US. Not bad considering the distance. Through official importers, the version that included the Dual Shock was about 210 dollars. Ouch.)
