Hi all,
Just had a CRT TV die on me a couple of weeks after a month-long-ish Battle Garegga (Saturn) session where it was sat on its side. It was going a bit weird anyway (screen going yellow where it should be white) but I’m a bit wary of doing the same with my ‘new’ CRT. Is it always a bad idea or should it really be fine and I was a bit unlucky before? Took all the necessary precautions of letting it de-gauss etc. New set is in pretty good shape and seems pretty low-use up to now. Any help / advice very much appreciated. Cheers.

Why not keep the set upright and just set yourself on your side? Humans have evolved to tate themselves, as laying down to sleep in beds is proof.

It all depends on how you pronounce tate. Every time I tahtay a set it does fine. Soon as I go to 'tate one it blows up on me.

Thanks for the helpful responses, sounds like it should be ok then? Worried that it won’t be bracketed inside to support all the interior components if it’s at a different angle than intended.

No cons. Only pros. Just tate it.
