the discomen bug me in dangun feveron so i threw together a patch that makes player 1 instantly collect them when they spawn. so it's more of a cheat than a proper hack. in any case, if this interests you, check it out here:

i haven't very thoroughly tested it but ive gotten to stage 4 and it seems to work

Re: Dangun Feveron no discomen hack

Shit run tbh. This hack has no future
(* score is FALSIFICARE, I reloaded stage 5 from savestate after fucking up and dying)
Survival play here is easier than deliberately ignoring scoring, because you don't get the rank component from losing DMs (counter at 0x105110, suspect it caps out at 512 missed if you want to substitute for it somehow, not that a realistic survival run will get close to that).
Wasn't sure if the performance rank was working either at first but I think I was just imagining it, not having much to think about makes the bullets feel really slow.
Playing like this did give me some fun ideas, like how there's a ~3 pixel wide gap you can fit through between paired green needles, so if you angle-lock a big 4-way ship you can sit still in front of it and it'll miss you.

Re: Dangun Feveron no discomen hack
yeah the problem with me making this kind of a hack is that unlike Tatsujin Ou I know dick about this game, I didn't even know there was rank stuff involved with missing disco men (does it increase rank to do that??)
Re: Dangun Feveron no discomen hack
Yeah, when they leave from the top of the screen the rank goes up.
Re: Dangun Feveron no discomen hack
The hack works fine for me, nice job! After playing it thought, I realize now how much I like picking up the discomen. It's fun when you don't know how to play this game. Swinging from side to side to pick them all up.
Someone could probably come up with a way to make the discomen less visually cluttering and still keep the mechanic like it is in the original game. ...Or I'm just gonna have to learn to pick them up asap as players do in a normal scorerun.
