Vertical Banding After RGB Mod (pic included)

Just curious if anyone has any ideas what might be causing this vertical banding on the left side of the screen. I don't recall it being there before I rgb modded, I mean maybe it's just light reflecting in the tube, but wanted to check with you guys first see if you had any ideas for solving it.

This is a JVC C-13011 - pretty normal rgb mod, nothing special, this is the tutorial if anyone else wants to utilize it:

Side question...I've heard you can adjust the H center of the image but tapping into the VCC pin on the jungle chip, and connecting 5v to it through a 10k pot, and sweep the pot to center the image. Anyone ever heard of that, or can confirm? I wanted to try that.
