GComp help! Suddenly stopped working.
GComp help! Suddenly stopped working.
I've had the Gcomp switch since September and it's been working great. Suddenly tonight it isn't showing video. Switches to the correct console, sound is playing. But video is not. Just a white screen with yellow vertical lines. Tried multiple consoles. Hooked up to a retrotink5x, which loads it's menu fine. Any ideas how to fix? Going a bit crazy over here, especially with how long I waited to get this device. Thanks! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried wiggling cables? Sounds stupid, but just last week I had my N64 connected to it through composite with a cheap third-party cable and although everything in my equipment chain was connected and fully seated, it wasn't until I physically moved the cable that I got a display. I guess the cable didn't appreciate the sharp bend that you'll get when the RCA ports are all pointing up.
Reminds me to stock up on these wire protector things along with those Laser Bear bumper cases...

Yeah wiggle the connectors to the consoles themselves. This happens to me sometimes too. Should fix it.
I really doubt the Gcompsw would die, at least back with Super G made them they looked ready to last a lifetime. Not sure how the standards are in the hands of CastleMania but hopefully still excellent.
