Modding Dreamcast's VGA Box for (both modes of) 15khz RGB
I would like to mod Dreamcast's VGA Box to add to it both modes of 15khz RGB. As I understand I would need to install 2 switches, one on pin6 and other on pin7 to connect and disconnect them from the ground. This way I could have all possible video modes in a single box. How to do it and how to find pin6 and pin7?

Use the continuity test on your multimeter to check what wires on the inside of the box correspond with the pins on the Dreamcast connector.

I thought your DC VGA Box was the official one released/sold by Sega. It's quite pricey nowadays indeed.

Hell yeah! I like your choice for the switches, sephiroth. Are you blessed enough to use a VGA cable out into a multi sync monitor? Or do you send the signal to a scaler (or something like that)

Wait, I'm confused, what are "both modes" of 15kHz RGB?Superior Sephiroth wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 1:07 pm My Dreamcast VGA Box now:

I thought you only need one switch, since there's already a TV<>PC switch to go between the "TV side" (with s-video, etc) at 15kHz and the "PC side" at 31kHz. And the added switch is just to allow the PC side to output at 15kHz

Maybe they added a sync combiner for 15kHz output and that’s what one switch is for…? That’s my best guess, hehBazookaBen wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 12:45 amWait, I'm confused, what are "both modes" of 15kHz RGB?Superior Sephiroth wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 1:07 pm My Dreamcast VGA Box now:
