RGB Mod Sansui COM0961B. Need Help

Post by wolfix1001 »

Problem is I can't get the RGB video to display in general. I still get composite video, but I can only get a red, blue, green, or white screen. My guess is that I don't have sync?

It's a Sansui COM0961b made in 2002. I wanted to mod it since I know it's a perfectly functioning TV with no issues, and it's the only small consumer tube I still have. I also managed to find a service manual with all the info I need: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18V951p ... p=drivesdk Yes I know it says Memorex, but this unit was under like 12 different names, the internals are made by Orion. The service manual matches the TV exactly.

I soldered wires to r682, r681, and r680 which are the RGB lines that enter the "chroma" chip (M61206fp). I did not cut the RGB connection between the chroma chip and the "Micon" (unknown microcontroller) which makes the on screen display. Funny enough I found Adrian's Digital Basement had a pretty much identical chroma chip to mine, but he was setting the TV for RGB only and I got confused. I want to use "line in 1" as my RGB input. His video: https://youtu.be/QktIj48Ydek

For testing I cut the jumper used for the "OSD OUT1" (w813) and soldered a wire to both ends of it. Jumper (w813) goes between I also added wires for ground and 5.6v dc, since I heard in 8bitguy's video I will need to tie the blanking to high. His video was confusing in relation to my chip, since I think Adrian said he's using the same OSD OUT1 as blanking.

I have a ps1 connected, R,G,B connected to the listed resistors, ground to ground, Composite video/ sync connected to composite on line 1. I keep playing around with the rest of the connections.

Update: I wanted to check the schematic again. I traced the lines: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qi-TC8 ... sp=sharing
