Seems that every day there's another re-release of some old shmup getting a release on the Switch, Ps4 and Ps5.
I'm not sure I can be bothered, I used to try and buy them, but I'm coming to the conclusion that they're really just lazy ports.
Physical releases lazy?

Re: Physical releases lazy?
There's no sweeping generalization you can throw at them. Some haven't been so hot, while some like the M2 & Livewire ports have been fantastic. But with positive reports about the Psikyo Collection on PS4 coming out, it seems like even the lax companies like City Connection have realized sloppy work isn't going to fly in a small niche genre where people are very online. On the whole I think the good ports are very much outweighing the bad in terms of what gets picked up for physical release.
Re: Physical releases lazy?
Is there anything in your mind that differentiates the physical releases from the digital?
...Of course the bad ports are disappointing, but I'd presume most people would welcome the opportunity to pick up ports... I wouldn't feel compelled to pick up everything.
I'm not sure I'd call any port effort lazy, some are undoubtedly fumbled, but it's kind of nice to find there's both attention and a market there for these older games.
