Can you link two Extron Crosspoint switches?

Post by RebeL9 »

If you have say one 16x8 and one 8x8 crosspoints can you link them together so that it recognises both as one 24x16 switch?

No. But you can use one output and put it to the other Crosspoint (and vice versa as well) and send a single between them.

Thanks. I’ve heard that you can’t play a console connected to switch 2 on a monitor connected to switch 1. Is it correct?

If you want to fully integrate two units, then one input of each machine and one output on both machines get used for the interconnect. This way you can of course display ANY device connected to either switch on ANY display connected to either unit.

So in other words, as long as you connect them to each other, you can throw any image from any console hooked up to either Crosspoint to any monitor/display you have hooked up to either Crosspoint as well... just have to set it up that way (i.e. one output from each goes to an input of the other).
