Need Help Fixing Geometry on JVC TM-H1750G

Post by Tempest_2084 »

I got around to taking some pictures of my JVC TM-H1750C running. Obviously I need to get into the service menu and adjust the screen (it was set for the Neo Geo so it's way too far left for everything else). One thing I did notice is that the geometry needs some adjusting. Specifically if you look at these pictures you can see that the bottom 'flairs out' a bit on the left and right sides. This is most noticeable with the two Symphony of the Night pics. Is this something that can be fixed through the service menu? I think this might be keystone or something like that? The menu only has very limited adjusts though, the only interesting ones other than size and position are E-W Parabola and E-W Corner.

The picture is absolutely gorgeous though (check out that scanline porn), and it has the most perfect convergence I've ever seen. It puts my PVM to shame in every way other than size. The pcitures are a little washed out due to the crappy lighting in my basement.

I adjusted the screen the best I could. My model has very limited geometry controls so there wasn't much I could do. As you can see there's still some flairing on the sides but it's really not that bad. My next goal is to adjust the underscan so I can try and center some of these systems that want to drift left or right (the Genesis shifts left but the PSX shifts right for example). Basically I want to use the underscan mode as a second set of geometry values because as it turns out I don't really need to underscan anything except the Neo Geo.
