From the choices available I went with Xexex. Thunderforce IV would probably be my runner up.

Switch out Thunderforce IV for III, Darius Gaiden for G. Darius, or R-Type III for R-Type 1 or Delta and I would give a different answer.

Steel Empire 3DS is my fav.
Not the best hori in the world, but possibly one of the best looking when seen in 3d.
(Out of the games in the running though, I'm voting Darius Gaiden.)
Also, plug for Hydorah, it's like freeware Darius.

I liked Macross 2! That said, Scrambled Valkyrie for the SNES is a far superior game imo.

Casuals should in theory shower, shave & in general have acceptable hygienic habits.
The true shmupper doesn't, because it would be a precious waste of time that could be better spent on practicing chains in [insert game X].

I mean, who runs a poll for only 2 days? People got shit to do. Also, weird choices. TFIV over TFIII is taking sides in a very contentious war. (I like both, which I like more changes depending on how much time I've devoted to them recently.) So many great horis not represented here.

I was the only person who voted for Xexex.

Probably the best R-Type clone not made by Irem, in part because it has it's own identity and spin on the game mechanics in a way thay a lot of R-Type clones don't. Impressive visuals and animation for its age too, along with a sweet Konami soundtrack. Add it all up and you got a killer game.
