GDM-FW900 - Red tint

Hi all,

This issue started suddenly occurring yesterday. The monitor is displaying a red tint, regardless of resolution or refresh rate, that I can only reduce by setting colors to "expert" mode and reducing the red drive down to near 0. This is not an input problem as it occurs with both the VGA and BNC inputs, and occurs whether using VGA out or HDMI to VGA adapter out of the PC. The red tint can be seen in the background even when the "no input" OSD is displaying on the monitor, but within that window, where it displays a test picture, I can see that reds, greens, and blues all display properly. The tint is most visible when the monitor should be displaying a black background.

Color restore function does not fix it.

Reds otherwise appear normal as do blues and greens.

This reminds me of a P992 I have where there is the same issue except the tint is blue. I know sometimes this can be adjusted with WinDAS and...maybe is part of the aging algorithm? But would that problem manifest so suddenly/instantly?

If anyone has any insight I'd appreciate it as I think the tube is still in otherwise good condition.

The software algorythm that controls color compensation just goes too far, try doing color calibration on WinDAS.

Thanks, I appreciate it. From my memory a USB to TTL adapter is useful for this. I will do some of my own research on the process, but do you have any guides that you particularly recommend as to just bringing down one of the overdriven colors?

Drive changes how reds appear in highlights. If you have red tint in shadows you need to adjust the red offset/BIAS. In case it still doesn't solve the issue, WinDAS is the way to go.
