So some of us have had them. I just started thinking about them because it seems some people have been absolutely destroyed by them and other people have turned out the better for it.
I had one in high school, for one year, and at the time he was the biggest scariest mofo I had ever seen. He was a linebacker on the football team, if that tells you anything. The way I was picked on made me question the existence of god himself. The guy was THAT scary and it didn't help I was a tiny undersized kid either. I wasn't even his favorite target either. His favorite target was a very short and very chubby kid. This kid was so scared of him, he'd try to find ways to skip gym class just since he shared a gym class with the bully. He made this poor fat kid's school life a living hell.
Anyway a couple years later, I ran into this bully again while he worked at the mall. He's really not that big and I don't know why I was ever scared of him. We talked for a bit about the old days and he was pretty cool considering the last time we met, I slammed him in the balls and ran for my life all the way to a bus stop that was over a mile away.
The chubby kid didn't turn out so well. He's extremely anti-social, even to this day. He failed out of college and I'm guessing he has no luck with the women. He's a farcry from the kid I saw in high school who used to write computer programs in his spare time.
So anyone have any experiences with bullies? Did they build character?
