No sex appeal in shmups?

Apart from Konami's Sexy parodius there isn't much in the way of marketting shmups through sex is there?

Fighting genre gets DOA, Tekken, VF... Nothing for shmuppers at all

I have never come across a shmup where the first boss is a naked woman fondling her breasts (think mermaid in parodius, but totally naked). Could be tactical distraction if nothing else

I think its about time someone pushed the boat out a bit and gave us hardcore shmuppers more lovin material

Its funny because there is more gay material in the shmup world than there is for us hetrosexuals.

If there was more sex in them, they would be taken even less serious.

Close enough, but the Busty Bee in Oshaberi Parodius fits this description. It waers a bra and attacs you with lipstick missiles. It even fondles its breasts before it rushes you.

Yeah shooters always have cute girl characters - whether you play as them, rescue them, or they fight you, it's a moot point.

Sex appeal is part of almost all game genres.

Cave. Granted most of Cave's girls are decent looking, Mushihimetama (yes, tama, the puzzle game) takes the cake for flat out crappy sex appeal. The art is poo and her boobs are flopping 'round. Dumbity-dum.

once i was told that sitting too long in front of a screen reduces your sex drive - maybe this is why programmers show lack of interest in sexual content and more in big spaceships and enemy boss creature designs

I bought the Mushi soundtrack just for the toy (the teenage one with the big tats, not the 6 year old). That cost me $80, but my desk is an easy $80 more sexy now.

I love playing great shmups, give me some big tit artwork too and then I'll appreciate it's artistic content even more.

i want to be clear, i differentiate between sex appeal and hentai.

there is quite a bit of hentai going on in genocide circuit 2. some of which will make you feel all dirty inside for playing the game in the first place... but it is a superb game.

I actually think Steam Hearts' is a great shooter (except the PC98 version, which is jerky as hell). Great music, simple gameplay, relaxing (but not snoozing) difficulty, good variety of options...not sure what everybody else finds so bad about it.

The gameplay is TOO simple and I think it's a total snoozefest. There's often long moments without any enemies attacking. If the game was only bossfights it would be much better (also, you'd get to the OMGSEX parts faster

).
