How to HDMI->CRTtv with RPi4 & HDMI->comp adapter?

Hi all, I've tried all sorts of stuff to get 15khz output to consumer CRTs with this setup. Guides online looked pretty simple...just editing the main config file, the hdmi mode & group.
With a retropie image on my RPi4...the initial bootup screen with the 3 raspberries is working in 480i (mode 6) and 240p (mode ...beyond that the image is scrambled.

and a thread from here dating back to July. Have things changed? Wrong image? Not possible? Thanks!
